Default Handstand / Handbalancing Calisthenics Bodyweight Fitness Enthusiast: my Journey

2 years ago i was involved in my yoga practice and have learned over time inversions.

It's amazing how consistent practice and commitment can get you when you only work for it.

And because, my selftaught practice have evolved to the point that i am already focused on handstands (a form of handbalancing)

this thread is for those who are interested and wishing to learn this asana / bodyweight /calisthenics / Skills Based and Strength Exercise. It is not as intimidating as it looks, like almost everything, with practice, one eventually gets there.

I have just celebrated my 1 year of Handstand/Handbalancing Practice as a 38 yr old and has been very grateful of the benefits it has on my fitness regime.

If you wish to learn this Skill, or already have, you can share this here.

Here's my Handbalancing Practice today on Handstand Canes Day 1 of Straddle Jump Entry.

Default What your mind can conceive, your body can achieve =)

Practice and all is coming. Learning to Handstand by myself took discipline and commitment. That is why i learned the handstand within a month. Like any skill and goal, when you put time and effort and priority on a particular goal, you eventually get there.

Sharing my very first selftaught Handstand which is a Handstand Straight Leg Press Up

Lesson Learned: To be proud of the result of your hardwork. =)

    Default Intimidated with Handstands ?

Don't be. It's easy and you only need to practice this skill. A Simple Handstand kick up is More on Skills-based than Strength.

For long time handstand practitioners, this practice will improve your balance, strength, endurance and flexibility =)

Here's a vid of mine taken 2 days ago 1year into my HS practice.

Default Handstand Practice for Strength , Endurance Balance and Flexibility

Do you already have a solid 1-minute freestanding handstand?

If so, you can try this for Strength , Endurance, Balance and Flexibility . Handstand is not as difficult as it looks, it is only a matter of dedication and consistency of practice.

    Default Handstand Alignment

    HANDSTAND ALIGNMENT
When I committed to practising the handstand progressions, I did not expect my alignment to be perfect. Realistically, it takes time and consistent conscious effort to achieve proper alignment through regular practice. In a handstand, shoulders are over your wrists and hips over your shoulders.
A properly aligned and stacked handstand looks like the following:
    • Feet are pointed
    • Knees are fully extended
    • Fully extended hips
    • Flat Back (less arch as possible and no banana back)
    • Elevated scapula
    • Open shoulders
    • Elbows fully extended

    Got questions? Just ask =)

just read sorry. Build a Strong Core , Upper Arm Strength, Wrist STrength and Flexibility, , Hamstring Flexibilty and Range of Motion for your shoulders (para straight ang HS) plus Practice sa HS mismo. All these are good foundations built through time.

Kamusta man ang above aspects i mentioned? naa kay background sa any type of workout?
