Asus RT-A668U Router is the only one available locally. Tho you mentioned heavy storage traffic, I think you're better off getting a NAS (network attached storage).
WD Mycloud EX2 available locally, Synology ds214se available in Manila. These 2 are entry level SOHO NAS. You can get more pricier ones with more storage capabilities and/or power.
Just a question, how do you forward it to the internet?

or LAN? through your Linux OS? or Windows?
you connect the NAS via router lan. router assigns ip to the nas, you access nas through ip. can be accessed from any apple, windows, or linux os. you can also set it up for internet access so that even your smartphone can access it anywhere as long as youre connected to the net.
thanks. Anyway, how much does it cost in Cebu?![]()
@ TS,
NAS ra ang need nmo, kun naa mo'y Old PC, pwede ni nmo gamiton ug NAS... gamit lang ka'g FreeNAS OS... mas better pa ni kun palit ka'g bnew NAS boxes kay palit lang man ka'g USB drive (thumb drive), HDDs ug intel based gigabit NIC (better ni labi na gigabit speed ang network)... then download lang dayon ka'g FreeNAS OS or Nas4Free... then you're good to go... kani kun NAS (Network Attached Storage) ra imohang need ha... kaya kaayo nya ang heavy traffic on a gigabit network...
10k for barebones NAS, you still need to buy a hard disk for it. it usually comes with 2 bay hdd storage for raid or single disk if you choose to do so.
i might add that there's a WD mycloud 2TB all in one NAS, costs 7k me thinks. its good for home use where 1-3 people would be using it. I assumed you might have a bigger office so i suggested the 2 bay models.
the 2 bay WD model can also act as torrent box, downloader, media server where as the single drive have lesser features. you might wanna read up on it to know what you want/need.
^ mahal2x gyud ning barebones... i still recommends to use an old PC for the NAS server... to keep the cash outlay as low as possible...
performance wise, better ni sila than those barebones... this is just me though... mao ni reason, i used a PC based NAS diri... Celeron G530T, 8 GB mem and 2 x 2 TB HDD and an intel gigabit NIC... juice provided by an Antec EA380... extra PC ni nko maong gi himo nko'g NAS server...

ni assume ko na dili hilig mo kulikot ang TS since nangutana man diri. less hassle and human daan, plug and play. no need to fiddle with network setups, software, etc.
as for me, 2 generations of asus router flashed with tomato firmware, connected to a usb drive for nas ra ako gamit for pila ka years. 4-8 watts re consumo. labad sa ulo kay usahay mabuang anrg router. upgraded lately to a full fleged nas, hassle free kaayo. wont look back.
actually sir, naa koy experience sa troubleshooting sauna. ako kuya kay technician sad sa iyang side. Naa mi kaila nga callcenter networker so ok ra kung pieces ang listing![]()
