    Default Tech Giant Review: Samsung (post your experiences and reviews here)


    Hey Guys,

    We all know Samsung is a big company right now. Let's all share our experiences with this brand to shed light on other would be buyers of their products.

    Rating legend: 1 to 5 stars ( 5 being the best)
    Criterias:
    - Product Quality
    - Product features
    - Customer Service and Warranty
    - Overall rating

    Here's my review for the Samsung LED TV 40-inch that we bought last year.

    1. Product Quality: 3 stars
    - TV had great resolution and clarity. Nice form factor and easy to understand menu. Sound was a bit soft for my taste. After approx 12 mos. of use, it suddenly stopped turning ON.
    2. Product features: 5 stars
    - Great features. All I need in a TV is there.
    3. Customer Service and Warranty: 1 star
    - When I brought my TV to their customer service center, the staff were friendly. However, they severely lack commitment. For the most part, they simply did NOT do or followed through with their promises. After bringing my TV for repair, which was still covered under the warranty period, they said they would update me on the status periodically. They asked for my landline at home and my celphone number. I specifically requested them to update me through text message because I am almost never home during the weekdays due to work. After 7 days, I still did not hear from them. So I called them and asked for the status. They told me that they are still waiting for the parts from their Manila office. They said it should arrive the following week. The following week came again I did not receive any text update. I again texted them for an update and they said they are still waiting for the parts in Manila. I asked why it took so long (Manila is just one hour away by plane, how long can a small TV part be delivered?). They said that actually the replacement part already arrived the week before but that it was the wrong replacement part. Apparently, their purchasing staff made a wrong purchase order to Manila. They again informed me to wait another week. Following week came, I again called them. They said the parts already arrived 5 days ago but that it wouldn't fit the TV because a slight mistake was made in the model part number, basically wrong spare part again. They said they already made a 3rd purchase order and sent it that day to Manila to finally get the correct part. I asked why it took them 5 days to send the 3rd order, they answered it was because their technician LOST the purchase order and had to find it pa. Wow. Talk about the opposite of competence. When I requested to talk to the technician, I could audibly hear from the background him saying that he didn't want to talk to me in an irritated tone. Basically, he he refused to talk. Anyway, I asked them why they hardly ever update me, they said they call my landline at home. I again explained that I specifically requested them to text me as I am not at home due to work. Isn't that common sense? They just kept saying sorry. Well, after 5 weeks of waiting, my TV was finally fixed but they never texted me, again. They proceeded to call my landline instead. It took me 2 days after their call to find out that the unit was already fixed. Our house help forgot to tell me about their call and rememberd 2 days after. It was frustrating because part of their rules is that if a fixed unit is not claimed within 7 days after it was fixed, they will ask for a fee of 10 pesos for every day thereafter.

    - Great product but really poor customer service.

    I just bought a Samsung Tab 7 2.0, last month from Samsung in North Wing (Thinking Tools) I only knew that it was Thinking Tools when they give me a receipt. I don't like Thinking Tools due to bad pass experience with my laptop warranty. They told me that I had 7 days replacement and 1 year warranty. on my first charge the battery only last 4 hours (wifi and downloads), on the second time it was just stand-by and got low battery in less than half-day. Since it is still within 7 days I quickly return the unit to Thinking Tools, the sales refuse to replace it and told me that all Samsung Tablet will only last 4 hours. So I went to the service center to complain, they fixed the software and now it will last more than 12 hours. What a poor quality unit. Even my son's IPad 1 which is very old will last 2 days. 1 Day if straight gaming.

    i really like their Smart Tv, picture quality is great. designs of their sets are really thought of, even the stock speakers of the tv sounds great too.
