Finally, had decided to build again a gaming rig

Peeps,

Allow me to share... I was bitten again by this hobby... sige man lagi basa2x dri... hehehe... karon hapon, nag order ko ani... budget gaming rig lang ni sya... not so fancy... bought it from New Egg CN...

Processor: Intel i3-2120
Mobo: Biostar H61MLC
Mem: Avexir New Core Series DDR3 1333 mhz (8GB)
Cooling system: Corsair H50 (closed liquid cooling)

Mao ni ang plano na paliton sunod...

GPU: ATI 5870 1GB... this is an old technology for now pero, pyts pa gihapon ni sa games. (planned to do CrossFireX maong ang planned PSU kay 900W... ma realized ra ni once mag change ko ug mobo & processor though)... i know that this GPU is an overkill for the i3... but again, planned lang for the upgraditis... currently, naa man ko gipalit na EVGA nVidia 9600GT para sa rig sa akoang anak, kani lang sa akoang gamiton kun dili pa mapalit ang 5870.
Casing: Cooler Master RC-430-KWN1... kingkoy kaayo ni tan-awon ang sulod kay mATX man ang current mobo na akoang napalit... tsk tsk tsk...
PSU: Antec HCG-900 (900 W)... i-ready lang basin mag upgrade napud sa sunod... or, basin overkill ra ni, ngita ko ug PSU na ubos2x ug wattage para barato.
HDD: ngita pa'g barato... mahal man lagi ang HDD ron na time...
Monitor: kani lang sa ang current nako gamit dri... mura'g sakit naman palit ug lain... hehehe...

Maabot to dri next Monday or Tuesday... if on hand na nko, i'll post some pics sa did2 sa isa ka thread na nag mention ug newly acquired PC components.

Stay put lang ang relic rig nko (MoDT Pentium M770) for downloading then watch ug movies...

Palihug ko ug comment ani nya... both positive and negative comments are all welcome... again, I'm preparing to be spanked again by the upgraditis virus in the near future... tsk tsk tsk... pagka gasto gyud ani na hobby woi...

ni gawas gyud ang pagka inot nako bro kay ang original plan nko na paliton for the mobo kay ASUS sabertooth P67 then i5-2500k for the processor... kaso, sakit2x man ang price. kita bitaw ko sa biostar na mobo na pwerteng baratoha then ang i3-2120 ang gipares... hehehe... mag ask diay ko kun unsa ang mga nindot na games ron... sus, ang games na giduwa nako pud kay mga relic man... hahaha... ka paets... hehehe

d man na bitin ang I3(unless using games/appz which ultilizes more than 2-cores) ok ra na imo 9600GT for now and upgrade to a more recent 1 monster card(im no fan of sli/xfire, to costly as an option) as your ung hardware upgrade(assuming decent powersupply na ni imo)

thanks bro... i myself was a user of crossfirex before... dual ATI HD4870X2 (quad gpu)... unya, wla gyud nko ma reap ang benefits kay lagi, 20" ra man ang akoang monitor... hehehe... sakto gyud ka bro, muti-gpu is too costly... sige lang ta ani plano2x... how about sa HD 5870, ok ba ni for the i3? single card lang. dili lang ko sa mga new and current techs na GPU kay sakit gyud kaayo ang price...

2120 can take torture from a single 5870 bro..

I think 900w is overkill. Any psu with at least 750w on the 12v rail can handle xfire 5870.

For new games, you can browse at gamespot.com. They have comprehansive reviews and good rating system. You can even search for the top rated pc games.

thanks... i'll just buy a lower rating PSU... for a single 5870 card, what's the preferred or recommended PSU rating? can a 450 or 550W PSU handle this kind of set up? the 1st upgrade that I will do is on the cpu... just thinking about this... maybe after a year...

aha, just read AMD's site... a 500W PSU is recommended for a single 5870 gpu...

Everything is fine... just the PSU is overkill.. 750w as suggested ni bro Keropi is sufficient enough even in xfire mode... a single 5870 is more than capable to handle the latest games at ultra high settings... my 6870 did... yet its power only sets between 5850 and 5870... mas kusog pana imong card..
