    Default Question about PSU

Standard ba ang PSU sa different brand/model nga mobo? Specifically sa latest model like mobo for AMD Phenom X2 and Intel C2Q. Or naa jud specific PSU ani nga models?

Nag libog man gud ko kay Intel man ni ako gamit then naa ni inquire nako if compatible ba daw ni akong Ac Bell PSU sa mobo for AMD Phenom X2...As i remember, naa unta to makig trade sa akong PSU. Then AMD mobo, and Phenom X2 to iyang set. Then Intel C2Q DDR2 ni ako-a.

Refer to this link lang mga bro. Dili man pud ko sweto aning PC parts...hehehe! Need help lang gamay mga master...

yes bro. standard in terms of connection

    • PC Main power connector (usually called P1): This is the connector that goes to the motherboard to provide it with power. The connector has 20 or 24 pins. One of the pins belongs to the PS-ON wire (it is usually green). This connector is the largest of all the connectors. In older AT power supplies, this connector was split in two: P8 and P9. A power supply with a 24-pin connector can be used on a motherboard with a 20-pin connector. In cases where the motherboard has a 24-pin connector, some power supplies come with two connectors (one with 20-pin and other with 4-pin) which can be used together to form the 24-pin connector.

and standardized according to specific types

Specifically sa latest model like mobo for AMD Phenom X2 and Intel C2Q. Or naa jud specific PSU ani nga models?

yes | No and it depends

PSU commonly are categorized ( according sa common user ) as generic and branded and everything inbetween..( semi-branded, semi generic etc )

for entry level procies like single core AMD Athlon LE | Celerons and for entry level | low end dualcore like Intel E2xxx | AMD athlon x2 on basic usage, generic PSUs can handle it well. specially if on stock speed / nonOC

    but for Mid End / High End X2 ( BE ) X3 X4 Phenoms | PII | C2D e6 |7 |8 i3 | i5 | i7
although some generic are capable of running it, it is recommended to use rated PSUs ( 80+ | 80+ bronze | Silver | Gold ) at minimum of 500w

power recommendation however raise up as more hardwares are installed : HDD | Fans | Coolers | and importantly > VideoCards

like this GT260, it requires 2 x 6pins ( not sure of Amperes
    ) for 182 W power draw

simply, a generic can't handle this VC in terms of Amperes | Wattage draw and even the SS ES500w with 36a maximum output so u'll need a higher PSU than required by the VC a 600w 80+ PSU with 42a can ran this card very well

Nag libog man gud ko kay Intel man ni ako gamit then naa ni inquire nako if compatible ba daw ni akong Ac Bell PSU sa mobo for AMD Phenom X2...
    it more than enough bro.

As i remember, naa unta to makig trade sa akong PSU. Then AMD mobo, and Phenom X2 to iyang set. Then Intel C2Q DDR2 ni ako-a.

for further discussion , there are mobos , enthusiast class like this :

requires a lot from the PSU

2 x 4pin 12volt rails | extra 4pin molex to run properly..anyways, its avery nice mobo, can OC very well..

36A is enough for a basic gtx260-system bro just as long as it's not overclocked or using a dual-proc xeon, or an 8-core amd or using a lot of fans or HDs.

thanks for clarifying bro keropi. i really don't know pila amperes need ani mga VC karon..

    i stand corrected.

and basically, this card also needs 2 x 16 but pwede ra ni using 4pin moles to 2x 6 adaptor

and i think the SP216 version of this card m GT260 is a 38A hungry , that was asked from me before, so i presume their of same power requirements.

    and OT..
    yes. ilove that mobo model.
was using that model too, it maid my C2Q stable at 3.GHz on intel orig HSF
