unsai gamit sa duha ka processor?
The very same use if humans have 2 brains
its parallel processing or "tightly coupled processors".........where in tasks are divided into equal parts and ech of the parts are distributed among the available processors......para madali ug finish ang task.......murag division of labor in terms of human work sense.
the present processors with in the assumed architecture "multiprocessor architecture" communicate via local main memory where in they exchange digital variable data to coordinate with each other

not necessarily two brains... humans can actually do two things at the same time... like eating popcorn, while reading a magazine... or perhaps... chewing a gum while playing tennis...Originally Posted by EarlZ

waaaaa...... ok ra man ang multi processor environment......pero main memory ra ang problem kay if dahan na ka tasks ki padagan mu consume gyud sila ug RAM. nag share ra gud sila..... ok ra basta puno ug ram ang imung pc
ako gud ning report sa CS39------> Operating systems and hardware

With the introduction of SMP and crossbar memory controller, the need to shadow the data on each memory for the respective processor now isnt needed anymore, Core0 can access Core1's memory and vice versaOriginally Posted by Mr. Fernandez
Your example clearly points to a single processor system, why ? coz several small tasks can be operated by the processor w/o a problem, but running 1 major task along with several smaller tasks halts the entire system.. much like the example of a human playing a tennis and solving a complex physics problem.Originally Posted by fish
The reasoning behind my response "The very same use if humans have 2 brains"
Is that the system is able to do 2 CPU intensive task on hand, like for example playing your favorite game while rendering an animation.. on a single processor system thats impossible.. or you could run your game on the other processor and millions of smaller applications on the other.
sakto sad ka bai earlz sa imo explaination sa 2 processors... pero ang human brain is very complex organ... depende sa anad... there are people who can actually learn to do two or more things simultaneously. dili tingali siya parehas ka-efficient kung duha kabuok imong brain... but it can still be done. hehehe
to answer the main question sa nag create ani nga thread... ang purpose sa duha ka cpu kay para ka makaperform ug two major task at the same time (efficiency)... so far... wala pa gyud 1 program nga magkinahanglan sa power sa 2 cpu.
ang akong point sa akong analogy nga pwede ka magchew ug gum while playing tennis, is para ba mas lingaw ang imo pagdula sa tennis or ang imong pagbasa sa magazine. same ra sa pc... kung maka processes imo pc efficiently ug two things at the same time... then mas productive ka... or kung naay games nga maka-utilize sa power sa duha ka cpu, then mas lingaw gyud na siya nga game... perhaps.
bitaw....... i think man game nga mu support ug parallel processing.......CRYSIS
it says it will use the hyper threading power of the intel procesors.....can you imagin one thread for a "grass effect" or even for a "wind physics" grabeh. realistic kaaayu......i can imagine shadows for each casings sa bullet......
