Wink newbies please ask, experts/masters please answer our queries

i love photography, to the extent nga dili nako makatulog ug huna2x na maabot and day nga makahikap nako sa akong first cam, still saving up for a dslr. we newbies have a lot of questions, we still have a lot of things to know, hopefully masters/experts or shall we say more experienced ones are going to share their knowledge about photography, including the gadgets and equipment.

my question is, unsa manang meaning sa number sa lens ex. 18-55? kong magkadako ba ang number mas taas ang abot sa lens sa subject? sorry, as in ihas pa kau ko ani but very much willing to learn.

im no pro but ur ryt... the bigger number the farther i can capture images. Sa imong example.. 18 is ur wide end of the lens then the 55 is ur tele/narrow end of the lens... (i hope im using the terms here... hahaha) so kanang 18-55 is a zoom lens u can zoom to 18 until 55... naa uban lens nga wlay range like the 50mm... mao ta tawag ug prime lens, isa ra ka focal length...(until diri lang sa ko sa akong tubag)... ask lang kay mga buotan mani mga istoryans mutabang jd ni cla...

    i hope naka tabang ko...

    18-55mm f/3.5~5.6
    50mm f/1.8

18-55mm = zoom range sa lens
    50mm = prime lens cannot zoom in/out

f/3.5~5.6 or f/1.8 = aperture. The higher the aperture is 3.5~1.0 will have affect into your DOF, shutter speed faster. The lower the aperture is 3.5~22 will make your shutter speed slower.

sa gadgets, i suggest...invest on lens not on cam. must have:
    - camera bag, (ayaw sundog anang makit-an nimo sa mall nga showy kaau sa camera nila)
    - tripod at least cdrking
    - lens cloth/ lens pen
    - ND8 filter when you love to shoot landscape ug baratohon nga GNDs.
    - baratohon na flash and wireless trigger&receiver and include shoot/bounce umbrellas with stand and holder if you want to have portraits.
    - manual focus extension tube or close up filters if you want macro or you can have reverse ring adapter and DIY falsh diffuser.

read this also it may help you.

Why do we need to buy FLASH? wala diay na built-in flash ang slr daan?
Unsa pod gamit anang flash diffuser? why e diffuse man?

i know I can easily google up all my queries here, but their explanations are not beginner-friendly and there are terms nga lisod sabton that only experienced photogrphers can understand.
