Default Please help...Internet Connection Problem - Vista (Laptop Neo)

I'm having internet connection problem with my Neo Laptop. The OS is Windows Vista. Actually I have tried other wireless and LAN connection without any problems at all. Unfortunately, I can't get any LAN connection from a hub port here in my place. This particular hub/port functions well/ok to other desktop pcs here but not to my laptop. My laptop can't detect any internet connection.

Is there any other configuration needed to be done?

    Please help..need it badly.

    Thanks a lot!

Is your modem a router/modem or is it just a pure modem? Meaning does it have DHCP server function?
If it does not have a DHCP server then I'm assuming your using a main computer to connect the rest of the computers to the internet using ICS and a switch. Most likely you have to change some settings in the main PC maybe a firewall is inhibiting your laptop from connecting to the net. I hope this helped you somehow. Word of advice if all else fails i suggest you buy an inexpensive wireless router, because a router is more stable in sharing internet connection than having to do it the old fashion way which is ICS from microsoft. Good luck!

I'm a little confused you mean to say that your setup is modem to router then router to switch/hub? Is that it? Correct me if I'm wrong. And if that is your setup what is the use of the switch/hub? A normal router has 4 LAN connections and your only using 2 LAN connections for the 2 PC, so that leaves 2 vacant LAN connections. Please clarify your home setup thanks!

Correct, small or home purpose routers has 4 Lan connections, why would you need the hub for? But anyway just to make sure, try connecting your laptop from the router directly, if it is ok then there's a problem with the hub and your laptop but if it's not ok maybe your LAN configuration is having some problems. Like for example, the router is using DHCP and leases 192.168.1.100 to this computer then at your laptop, you assigned that static IP and you forgot to remove it, then there will be an issue. That's just a scenario.
