I had a friend sa 1st year college.. he was so thin (he's the type of person that has a super fast metabolism and doesnt get fat no matter what or how much he eats.. in short.. naturally thin sya.)
What he did was....
- Excercise (gym), Body Building)
- Drink Protein Shakes (mega mass) Whey Protein
- Eat a lot
- Jogging (for Cardio)
- Get lots of sleep
You'll definitely gain weight if you develop muscles... and its the good way of doing it rather than just eating and getting fat.
oh,.... and with regards sa akong friend.. by the end of 1st year college... grabe na sya ka buff... (six pack, muscular build)
Problema lang nya karon is... if he doesnt go to the gym he loses weight..
while its true that some people will find it very hard to gain weight because of inherent biological and genetic factors, everyone shoud be able to gain some weight if they eat and excercise enough. if you eat a high carb diet, you will gain weight but that will be in body fat. my best advice based on personal and other's experiences is to eat a high protein low carb diet and lift weights. if you think about it that really is the only way to gain good weight (muscle). of course youll need to do cardio also but thats only because you want a more complete work out. if weight gain is what you really want, lifting weights and a high protein low carb diet is the way to go. the key is to always push yourself. you must progressively increase the weights you lift in order to force your muscles to develop. but like vipvip mentioned, once you have gained, you must maintain your work out routine and food intake otherwise your body will revert to its "default" state (whatever that may be for you as governed by your unique genetic and biological factors). another scenario is if you maintain your food intake and stop working out, in this case, you gain body fat slowly because your foods intake is the same and your activity level has decreased. i used to weigh a measly 130lbs when i was 22. my height is 5'7 so you can tell thats thin. so i started working out and now at 24 im 160lbs. im still trying to go for at least 170 but its taking me a very long time to gain because im inherently skinny. i noticed that there are times when i seem to reach a plateau and not gain in weeks and even months. but if i keep on pushing i slowly begin to gain again. i have never used any steroids or even protein shakes. i just try to make sure i get a lot of protein in my diet and i drink a lot of milk. if you have problems with your appetite, a cool thing i discovered is to a chew gum. by doing so, you trick your stomach into producing acids and getting ready for digestion. this makes you always hungry and when you eat, you eat more. i advice sugar free gum though that way you dont mess up your teeth.
