having trouble with my display,.... when exiting frm a game

well this problem started happenin' when i updated my V-card Driver (version 91.31)

everything runs smoothly,..... even when im playing games,...... the problem is when i exit the game,.....

it takes me back on the desktop,...... but i cant click on anything,.... nothing works,...... and sometimes theres static on my screen,....

the only thing i can do is press the power switch,....... and i start seeing things go back to normal,....thn my comp. turns off,..... when i turn it back on,... everything goes back to normal,......


has this happen to any of u guys??

I found the 91.31 Forceware driver to be buggy. FEAR keeps crashing on me on my 6600GT. I switched back to 84.21 and found it to be more stable. There's a 91.33 BETA driver on SliZone.com already so you might wanna check it out.

imho, never been a fan of upgrading my video drivers that much. newer drivers mostly have improvements just for the newer cards.

Oh wait, i was wrong about the 91.33 being offical. there was a release on that with WHQL certification but got pulled for a better new offical driver version.

Currently the latest beta is 91.37 which fixes some issues with the 7950GX2 the 91.33 or 91.37 should help you fix your problem.

Always be sure to use Driver cleaner to detonator destroyer and always uninstall in safe mode to be sure.


most beta versions have been known to be a better performer than the offical release. but the official release sometimes has certain fixes not found on the beta version.

Driver cleaner / Detonetor destroyer ensures that all the remaning and registry files that are related to the driver are wiped, i actually use both.
Un-installing a driver in safe mode is the best possible method when updating / changing drivers as during safe mode all the modules are not loaded on the system this ensures that all driver files are completely deleted.

Thats the method ive been using since the geforce 1 days..
