Default Having trouble with my mobile HDD enclosure..

mobile HDD: 40 gig seagate momentus

Kaso when I remove it and plug it in sa ako PC ( ang gigamit diay nako na PC nga gicopyahan sa internet cafe) wala ang file nga ako gicopy..diay mag "safe remove" gyud ko inig tang tang sa HDD from the cafe's PC..

kini ang akong suliran...hinaut pa unta inyo akong tabangan..salamat daan..

im using "that's" enclosure. wala mn problema.

baka hdd mo naa damage or badblocks?
you must use the "safety remove" when your removing your hdd cause it can currupt your data and can damage your hdd. sometimes physical shock can currupt or damage your hdd considering mobile pa imoha.

Also, do not use any usb hub, bisan ingon nga usb 2, kay most of the time mura rag usb 1.1

Sorry been out for awhile...bitaw mga bro..I think it has something to do with the USB 1.1 compatibility issue, kay sa ako kaila nga PC ko gamit wala man problem USB 2 hinuon gyud nya sa ako sad PC wala sad..safety remove man nako permi ang ako hdd, here's another problem I've encountered, dili dayon siya ma safely remove, kinahanglan kaduhaon nimo i safety remove aron ma, it is now safe to remove the blah blah na..

at first safety remove nako ingon ang message nga cannot be removed ang device kay busy daw...

Also wala ni bad blocks or bad sectors akong HDD, brand new man sad ni nako pagpalit naka ziplock pa, hasta ang enclosure..

USB 2.0 is by far the fastest data transfer in usb lines. although you can use usb 2.0 compliant devices on usb 1x computers, you can always get the little bubble note that pops-up during the detection. nothing to worry.

the function of windows xp 'safely remove' is just to make sure that nothing which you are currently doing, are not saved on the drive. you can actually remove right away the device, provided that you disable the buffering mode of that device. meaning, all the things you are doing will be saved directly to the device rather than to the buffer.

and also, there are issues when using usb devices on windows 98. be sure you install the software that comes with your device, if not, this might lead to problems in the future.

the rule of the thumb is, install the software first, before inserting the usb device. this applies to printers and cameras etc.. etc.
