From its Future of PlayStation event in New York today, Sony confirmed that a new entry in the Infamous series is headed to PlayStation 4, called Infamous: Second Son.

Second Son is once again developed by Sucker Punch and focuses on a society with walled cities and security cameras. It revolves around the idea that "our security comes at a high price -- our freedom." It focuses on multiple people with superpowers.

The new character you see in the announcement trailer is 24 year old, Delsin Rowe, and this new game will take place in Seattle. It has been seven years since Cole McGrath's last story in inFamous 2, and the Department of Unified Protection is now established to fully take on the threat of bio-terrorism.

Setting the scene: It’s been seven years since the Cole McGrath episodes and the world has clearly changed. Anyone showing signs of being a so-called “bio-terrorist” is immediately handed over to the Department of Unified Protection (DUP) — a government agency created to ensure there is never a repeat of the catastrophic events of Empire City and New Marais. So Delsin, who has never been particularly respectful of authority, finds himself caught in the DUP dragnet – And decides he’s not going to go quietly.
