Mistakes done by all doesn't justify in conforming to their mistakes and treat it as alright... That's what we are good at, comparing ourselves to the mistakes of others "hey, they've done it also so its okay"
It is retrogressive in human thinking and doesn't qualify for any logic that the statements wish to impart...
ma sum up ang tnan sa Crab Mentality, kay wlay gusto mo asenso, gusto tnan birahon paubos, which is VERY wrong na attitude jud.same rgud na mka silingan tag ni asenso kalit,di jud ta mohunong mangitag rason why ni asenso cla, which is di dpat dba?maypa mangayog tips unsaon pag asenso, kesa tbangag bira paubos.IMHO
quite not on the mark... crab mentality is natural for all people... unconsciously, we all want to be far better off than the people in our immediate surroundings...some will channel that desire through hard work...some will resort to destroying reputations...some achieve that through stealing.... the first example is encouraged.... the next two are the very things that gives purpose to the existence of government and laws.... now, if the government becomes a charity instead of an enforcer of rights, then it becomes a tool of injustice...
...Karon pa jud ko ka-check ani nga thread. ^_^
...FYI, @eezychair, Si TS is asking about sa "pagsinabtanay sa isig-usa-usa" kung mao ba jud ang problema nato mga noypi. Like karon wala ka ka-G sa akong ipasabot ug basin wala kasabot or murag wala nimo sabta.
Akong gipasaka ang kinaiya nga "PRIDE" (which is I think would be the worst case attitude that could ruin the humanity). Tungod ana nga kina-iyahan dako akong pag-too nko nga mao nay hinongdan sa atong walay pagsinabtanay syempre gubot pas lokot kung kita tanan tag-as ug mga PRIDE, instead of "PROUD" nga mao nay insakto unta sa tao, nga mo accept sa tanang butang ug mapasigarbuhon instead of taas ug garbo is a foolish or silly daw na nga kinaiyahan mao nay hinongdan sa gubot kay dili kasabot - mao nay boot ipasabot ni Aristotle nga Statement.
Through this attitude, life is in danger to live, because, each could not accept being a looser, which they could think unable to stand-up with no hope, mao na ang uban depress ug mawad-an ug pagla-om sa katilingban, unsay buhaton? - mag-buhat ug mga violenteng kalipay, hold-up, rebels, like kang Mendiola Scandal, ug ban pah, (kabalo nmo ana...) and should not be deserve second chances because of the history (-marked) they had been, ug gusto nila nga makuha ug matuman ilang PRIDE.
So, for me this is the common problem of all, I mean of all living creatures - defending themselves (as too much) and also this "crab mentality"
So, does it makes sense to you?

being selfish is embedded in human nature. i doubt there are people here or majority of the people will give away 90% of their wealth to others; and other scenarios.
well emow had a point... it boils down to the government to lead the way. What we see today is the results of the form of government we had which is democracy; freedom of speech, expression, religion to worship, to rally and strike(lol at penoy) etc. those things just create more clash of opinions, beliefs, culture etc. Well if you guys dont like our current situation then we should change to a Totalitarian government and all of us will have a common goal that is... whatever our dictator tells us lol it may lead to success or doom who knows. In our current system when most dont have the discipline or education to move forward and we are trap in the deadlock of crab mentality where people would rather vote an incompetent president we are doom as well but at least we are happy to decide for our own future but the government will screw us time to time lol.
Pardon me if gone too political anyway this is the political section. Should this thread be on this section?
And personally i dont see that this "understanding problem" is something we had to worry too much lol. In the US they face such dilemna but i think its much worst than us.. naa pa gani ni cla political divide.. being republican or democrat.
sa US man gud bay if u can just notice dali lang para sa ila ang magkasinabtanay unlike sa ato mga pinoy diri nga nagpuyo jud sa pinas..
I already summed it up in my previous posts.. diri man gud sa ato sa pinas ang mga pinoy mag inunayay man gud.. sa US nakakita ba ka nga mag inunayay sila?
and lastly, daghan mga dialect ato nasud which is hard for us to understand our fellowmen well.. maski gani bisaya dili man japon magkasinabtanay sa kapwa bisaya kung mag istoryahanay kay lahe pud ug version sa dialect ang bisaya sa cebu, bohol ug davao.. although magkasinabtanay ta pero kailangan pa gane most of the time na naa pa mu translate..
What you mean by that statement? its harder for Filipino to understand each other than our American counterpart. Cause what I see its the same no matter what nationality he or she have. You and many others just making us Filipino a lesser people and now we are being stereotype as "crabs" (crab mentality) cause thse pinoys keep circulating it on the web. When being selfish is a universal trait.
Google American civil war, i think thats ultimate example of misunderstanding lol. Watch those US shows like Jerry Springer show, like every episode theres a fight. And many US shows esp those reality show theres always misunderstanding, taunting, bullying, bad mouthing, fighting mtm. Im not saying its better here but im saying thats humanity theres always conflict and misunderstanding gonna happen.I already summed it up in my previous posts.. diri man gud sa ato sa pinas ang mga pinoy mag inunayay man gud.. sa US nakakita ba ka nga mag inunayay sila?
What im saying theres this ideology of being a republican and democrat, like democrat approve gay marriage, abortion etc while republican which are mostly conservative oppose those. Many people in the US supports their party ideology unlike here people look for each politician stand and platform not necesarrily the party stand. And please dont say theres no rally trying to oust the president in the US its clearly you are ignorant on whats happening in the US and i doubt you've been there here some pics on a rally against Bush.. you can even google image anti Obama protests.political divide ba? mas grabe sa pinas bay kay kung dili gane magkasinabtanay ang mga opposition ug ka alyado sa presidente kay mag rally dayun.. mag kudeta pa gyud usahay... sa US mag rally ba sila against sa ila dili nagustuhan nga presidente?
Its true, there is a dialect barrier but surely we pinoys can talk in Tagalog our mother language. I hope you didnt confuse this barrier with our country lackluster progress. Cause progress had different factors. I cite USA as an example cause even they face such dilemna they are in much better shape than us.and lastly, daghan mga dialect ato nasud which is hard for us to understand our fellowmen well.. maski gani bisaya dili man japon magkasinabtanay sa kapwa bisaya kung mag istoryahanay kay lahe pud ug version sa dialect ang bisaya sa cebu, bohol ug davao.. although magkasinabtanay ta pero kailangan pa gane most of the time na naa pa mu translate..
i am against government leading the way.... i am against suppressing the liberty of the people to advance a common goal... What you will have is only growth in progress but not prosperity of the people. Growth is statistical and has no emotion. Prosperity is felt by the people in a positive way.
I am for limited government and more emphasis on individual rights and free market economy. Although free market is not perfect (thank God!), it corrects itself by punishing the unproductive, useless and corrupt entities by naturally being irrelevant to the market. Government intervention, however, creates artificial demands, artificial progress, artificial rise in prices, that all lead to delayed solutions to problems, unequal distribution of resources, inefficiency, and most of all, corruption.
^^now thats a confusing thought, i was merely emphasizing the role of the government in uniting its people to a common goal or the goal of the majority. Most of the thoughts here speaks of attitudes/traits of pinoys which in fact also present to our foreign counterpart but despite these imperfection we could still unite in a way that we could respect the rights of the many.. and that is where the government steps in. Yes i know the government can be a pain in the ass, but what choice do we have theres no other institution that would rally us, i doubt religious institution can rally the non-faithful lol.
The bottomline is... whatever our problem individually theres this thing called government that we could depend upon. and whether we end up rich or poor as a country or so whatever happen to this country. this is brought upon the decisions of our political leaders.
