The Chinese Dog vs. the Filipino Dog

The Chinese and Filipinos realized that, if they continued squabbling over the Spratlys, they would someday end up having military combat. So, they decided to settle their dispute with an ancient practice: A duel of two, like David and Goliath. This duel would be a dog fight.

The negotiators agreed each side would take 5 years to develop the best fighting dog they could. The dog that won the fight would earn its people the right to rule the disputed areas. The losing side would have to renounce its claim for good.

The Chinese found the biggest, meanest Dobermans and Rottweilers in the world. They bred them together and then crossed their offspring with the meanest Mongolian wolves.

They selected only the biggest, strongest puppy of each litter, fed it the best food and killed all the other puppies. They used steroids and trainers in their quest for the perfect killing machine.

And after the 5 years were up, they had a dog that needed steel prison bars on its cage. Only expert trainers could handle this incredibly nasty and ferocious beast.

When the day of the big dog-fight finally arrived, the Filipinos showed up with a very strange-

looking animal, a Dachshund that was 10 feet long!

Everyone at the dogfight arena felt sorry for the Filipinos. No one there seriously thought this weird, odd-looking animal stood any chance against the growling beast over in the Chinese camp. All the bookies took a look and predicted that the Chinese dog would win in less than a minute.

As the cages were opened, the Dachshund very slowly waddled towards the center of the ring.

The Chinese dog leaped from its cage and charged the giant ''wiener-dog''. As he got to within an inch of the Filipinos dog, the Dachshund opened its jaws and swallowed the Chinese beast whole in one bite. There was nothing left but a small puff of fur from the Chinese killer dog's tail floating to the ground.

The stunned crowd of international observers, bookies and media personnel let out a collective
    gasp of disbelief and surprise.

The Chinese left in disappointment and disgust.

An American dog expert approached the Filipinos, shaking his head in disbelief. "I do not understand," he said, "Chinese top scientists and breeders worked for 5 long years with the meanest, biggest Dobermans, Rottweilers and Mongolian wolves, and they developed an incredible killing machine of a dog!"

The Filipinos replied. "Well, for 5 years, we have had a team of Filipino plastic surgeons from Vicky Bello working to make an alligator look like a Dachshund."
a great relief to turn a serious issue into something comical. pero in fairness, daog lang gihapon ang Pinoy. hehehehe

China's first aircraft carrier 'starts sea trial'

300m (990ft) carrier has been one of China's worst-kept secrets, analysts say

The Chinese navy's first aircraft carrier has begun its sea trials, the state-run Xinhua news agency has said.

It quoted military sources as saying that the refitted former Soviet warship left its shipyard in the north-east and the trial "would not take a long time".

The move is likely to raise fresh concerns over China's rapid military build-up.

Beijing is currently involved in several maritime territorial disputes, particularly in the South China Sea.
    Run-ins at sea

The aircraft carrier left its shipyard at Dalian Port in northeast Liaoning Province on Wednesday morning, Xinhua reported.

"Military sources said that the first sea trial was in line with the schedule of the carrier refitting project," it said.

"After returning from the sea trial, the aircraft carrier will continue refit and test work."

Xinhua did not provide any further details.

The carrier is question is a former Soviet warship, which was formerly called the Varyag.

It is a relatively old design and it was not built by China. It was constructed in the 1980s for the navy of the USSR, but was never completed. When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, the rusting hull of the Varyag sat in dockyards in Ukraine.

As other Soviet warships were cut up for scrap a Chinese company with links to China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) bought the Varyag claiming it wanted to turn it into a floating casino in Macau. It took several years to finally tow it all the way round the world to China, where it was then taken to Dalian.

In June, the PLA confirmed that China's first aircraft carrier was under construction.

However, Beijing has recently sought to downplay the capabilities of the carrier, saying it would be used for training and research.

But a Japanese defence study last week expressed concern about what it called China's failure to explain its military ambitions.

In the past year, China had maritime run-ins with Japan, Vietnam and also the Philippines over disputed territories in the area.

hahaha, saun man tawn ni sa pinas uie ug mao ni ga park sa spratlys! hahahahaha...ampo nalang ta na by some act of god malunod ni ug bagyo? di magsilbi uie...

but cguro sakto ng uban military experts sa uban nasud...to be an effective carrier task force, a carrier needs to be supported by a couple of ships, a few hundered planes and a thousand men to be an effective carrier group..dili pa ron ni kahadlukan sa uban nasud ang bag.o na duwaan sa china...

and i seriously think the US and its allies have been closely monitoring the re-fitting of this ship so they are all well aware of the capabilities of this carrier be it PROs and CONs and i think kaya ra kaau ni nila if ever there will be a fullscale naval battle...mao guro Lax pa kaau sila.

Cge lang pray lang ta na malamdagan rani sila ug kahapsay sa ginoo...
