    well, if China does invade, we obviously won't stand a chance. China is trying to compete with the US in the arms race after all. but don't worry yet TS, it's not happening any time soon.... well, I hope.

    A Chinese invasion of the Philippines is highly unlikely. While it may be possible, there'd be very little gain or none at all for the Chinese, politically or economically. Also, the United States, Japan, South Korea, etc. would have to step in, but not because they're interested in our sovereignty; Chinese domination of the Philippines will also mean domination of key South China sea trade routes, which is not in the best interests of the Japanese, and ultimately the United States.

    If they did invade, yeah, they'll be able to bomb key cities and force our military and government to surrender, but then, they'll have to deal with the problem with occupation. 100 million Filipinos v.s. a billion chinese may not sound like a fair fight, but we'll give them hell through a brutal guerrilla campaign. See Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and Vietnam War for examples.
