Default Do-It-Yourself CPU Water Cooling Questions

Guys I've decided to build a DYI Water Cooling for my system coz I'm getting bored.

Since I'm a Newbie at this I would be asking tons of questions to the masters and Gurus.

    First off, I currently have:

    1. Water Pump - bought at White Gold for 500 pesos. External AC Current 18W 2,500 Litres per hour and Submersible.
    2. Water reservoir (Old Fish Tank)
    3. Distilled Water and some bunch of chemicals
    4. Swiftech Apogee XT CPU Waterblock (will order if my plans are successful)
    5. Radiator - (Planning to use the Motorcylce's Radiator)

Photo taken and inspired by TPC:

    Swiftech Apogee CPU waterblock:

    Now my questions:
    1. Any cheap CPU waterblock with 1/2 fittings?
    2. Best way to prevent corrosion

Please don't tell me to buy Aquagate or H50 Hydro Series or watercooling like Andz coz this is a Cheap DYI Water Cooling System.

Open for suggestions for the water block coz murag mahal mahal ni dah, I'm willing to buy one not make one para sure jud walay leaks.

    Thanks guys for helping.

@Blizzga, Better use 1/2inner diameter of sa tube, then 3/4 outer diameter. mao na amung gamit ni andz nga sizes, then you also need a metal fitting if you decide to buy the cpu block. Dli kha na kusug ra kaau imung pump e use? kay basig kusug ra kaau ang pressure sa waterblock.

Bai, nindot ni imung g himu da. subscribe ta ani. hehe..

ahhheeemm....let me chime in - i can start by answering your 2 q's

    1. You can use plastic zip ties to fasten it or better, those metal clamps that you screw tight. But the best are Compression Fittings.

    2. The "inlet" and "outlet" part that the hoses attach to are called barbs/fittings. There are 2 commonly used barb sizes in pc watercooling - 3/8" and 1/2" diameter. You would need to get a hose that has an inner diameter (ID) of 3/8" or 1/2" which ever barb size you decide to use.

I suggest you do a little research in forums like xtremesystem - and for parts you could try sidewinder, performance pc's, etc...

Good luck with this and keep posting your progress.

Aaah so the inlet and outlet are barbs? I thought they are nipples just like what we use for plumbing faucets.

So I need 3/8" hose or 1/2". Think 1/2" would be easier to find.

    1. So I just attach the hose right away to the "Barbs"? kanang paslak dritso then put metal clamps?
    2. What kind of hose should i use?

    Thanks for the support guys!
