I personally think that it is okay since money is the primary motivation to succeed anyway. Then these kids might as well learn the responsibilities and the values that comes along with it an early stage.

As I have said, seriously, if Financial Management was only taught in high school like what they are doing now, life could have been much sweeter.

Filipinos should be taught or trained to have an entreprenurial mind in a global scale and the value of money at an early age since our government can never alleviate us from poverty.

I will lose my personal PRIDE and MOTIVATION . Though a different kind of MOTIVATION existed , it will also be a factor in breeding CORRUPTION at ane arly stage .

It is nothing different from POLICEMEN getting CASH AWARDS for nabbing a criminal .

i think if guided and channeled properly, this will not lead to corruption.

Money will motivate the child to strive hard but psychologically,it will have negative effect on his behavior someday.What if parents dont have money to give to their child?Rewards for childs accomplishments in some other ways could be the best to motivate him.Like take her/him out to malls or movies,give him simple gifts or just show him that you are happy about his accomplishments.

it's the same thing because kids don't look at money like adults do.

scholarships through academics or sports, has the same effect on the child. i should study hard so that i can go to a good university for free someday. i will practice hard on the court or the field so that i will have a scholarship someday, be a pro athlete and have a huge house, a couple of cars and 5 wives.

how about winning cash prizes for experiments, debates, spelling bees, etc. Isn't that the same thing?

some schools here in the states are experimenting with it perhaps, the academe have a pretty good reason to do so.
