If you are already familiar with Micro$oft's ADO (ActiveX Data Object), use adodb http://adodb.sourceforge.net to access MySQL via PHP.
Very easy and works like charm.

Ebook are works great. But if you already know the basics it's easy to improve only is you have to find your goals, try develop websites or do some things that you didn't do yet. That will helps you to improve your skills. But if you hate to read find some video tutorials you can find it at

If you are using C# for your .net than that would be easy to transform...... baliktad pud tah ako nahan pud ko praktis ug .net nyhahahha. i guess dali2x ra guro.. time lang ang kulang :P
