rule of supply and demand. nagbaha ang dollars due to OFW remittances.
ang economy sa US ron, medyo di kaayo stable so naa say effect.

Gas is expensive due to demand, nya wa sad kaayo control ang US ana kay di man cla major supplier.

The effect of the strengthening peso will only be seen in the long run, i.e. lower inflation rate

as for recommendations about conversion, sorry di ko sweto ana kay wa ko gawork sa FOREX.

the main reason why the economy of the U.S. is experiencing crisis right now is because of SUB-PRIME REAL ESTATE LOANS.

everybody speculated, everybody rode the band wagon and now the bubble has burst.

yes thats the main reason... correct me if i'm wrong but the US government invested heavily on real estate but people aren't able to pay because of high interests..

Subprime lending (also known as B-paper, near-prime, or second chance lending) is the practice of making loans to borrowers who do not qualify for the best market interest rates because of their deficient credit history. The phrase also refers to banknotes taken on property that cannot be sold on the primary market, including loans on certain types of investment properties and certain types of self-employed individuals.

Subprime lending is risky for both lenders and borrowers due to the combination of high interest rates, poor credit history, and adverse financial situations usually associated with subprime applicants. A subprime loan is offered at a rate higher than A-paper loans due to the increased risk. Subprime lending encompasses a variety of credit instruments, including subprime mortgages, subprime car loans, and subprime credit cards, among others. The term "subprime" refers to the credit status of the borrower (being less than ideal), not the interest rate on the loan itself.

Subprime lending is highly controversial. Opponents have alleged that the subprime lending companies engage in predatory lending practices such as deliberately lending to borrowers who could never meet the terms of their loans, thus leading to default, seizure of collateral, and foreclosure. There have also been charges of mortgage discrimination on the basis of race. Proponents of the subprime lending maintain that the practice extends credit to people who would otherwise not have access to the credit market.

The controversy surrounding subprime lending has expanded as the result of an ongoing lending and credit crisis both in the subprime industry, and in the greater financial markets which began in the United States. This phenomenon has been described as a financial contagion which has led to a restriction on the availability of credit in world financial markets. Hundreds of thousands of borrowers have been forced to default and several major American subprime lenders have filed for bankruptcy.

In the U.S. case, banks give loans to people who do not qualify. Since there was a boom in U.S. real estate, people who do not even qualify for a loan were buying 2-3 houses at a time and the banks approve their loans because they were on "subprime rate". The banks in turn were hoping that investment houses could generate more revenues out of the mortgages of these subprime loans, but they weren't able to successfully do that because their capital was on a surplus and since there is a surplus of houses to sell, nobody was buying from the developers anymore. Thus, the whole cycle crumbled like a house of cards.

People were not able to pay-off their loans, banks were not able to invest and generate revenue out of the mortgages of these loans and the developers were not paid and the houses they built are not selling and before the government knew it (actually, they already knew before but everybody was not saying a word because personally they too were riding on the bandwagon.) It became like a ponzi scheme just like pyramiding. Bad loans and unpaid credit hurts the economy and in this case they were hit deservingly bad.

Now is the best time for people who have money, lump sum cash to buy PRIME Real Estate at a steal from the Banks or Developers.

    The bottomline is GREED.
