Our government doesn't support local tourism, read more for an example..

I read in a newspaper that Mikey Arroyo sent 200 of our atheletes to Hong Kong Disneyland, I was wondering why not support our local business here, there are other beautiful places here in the Philippines, if they want rides, we have Enchanted Kingdom which have some nice rides, this really makes me sick, spending money there where it can be used to support our local tourism here...

The government spend millions just in advertising alone like Biyahe Tayo for local tourist WOW Philippines which is advertise abroad but then just because the athletes were awarded a trip to Hong Kong Disneyland, this already means that the government is no longer supporting the local tourism... nice conclusion.

i agree..if it does came from mike arroyo's pockets, why make an "issue" about it??! the athletes did work hard for the SEA games and i think they deserve the disney tour..

What personal money? Is Mike Arroyo gainfully employed as to afford this kind of lavish spending.Â* Just think how much will it cost a one way fare to Hongkong and plus the accomodations and the entrance fee at HK disneyland?

I dont think Mike Arroyo is that generous as to be willing to treat the athletes out of his own pocket.

I think, trip to Hongkong Disneyland one of the promises of Mike Arroyo to our Filipino Athletes aside from cash rewards. Imagine this:

P 100, 000 for gold medalist
P 75, 000 for silver medalist
P 50, 000 for bronze medalist

And so far, Philippines bagged 113 gold medals, 84 silver and 94 bronze in the recent Sea Games. Do you think Mike Arroyo can afford to defray of these rewards?
