Default Weird PC power issue. Need help

This is weird mga bai. My bro rebooted my pc the night of the storm. Suddenly the PC now refuses to show anything on screen. My AOC LCD monitor just flashes "no signal" then the red LED at the bottom.

Initially, I thought it was the vidcard. I brought the vidcard to another PC at my office and it to my surprise it worked fine! The pc booted with the bootup screen and everything.

Then the next culprit I had was the monitor. The next day I brought the LCD to the office (thank god LCD siya. CRT would have been a nightmare!). To my surprise again the office PC booted up with the monitor working perfectly.

I just can't figure it out! Both components worked fine. The PC powers up. The HDD flashes. I KNOW it's booting to windows because when the HDD finishes lighting up I press the power button and in a few seconds the PC powers down - a clear indication that the PC booted into windows (even though I can't see it) and even went through the shutdown sequence.

If it is a defective PCIE slot, shouldn't the mobo cease working? The onboard lan was busted a month ago it's possible it's a progressive component failure. But i find it weird that everything else works fine and the mobo isn't even giving some sort of beep that something is wrong with it!

Just check your connection bro... i had that problem before...i thought it has something to do with the internal stuffs (memory, vcard, etc..) and then i later found out that it was the connection of the Monitor to the Videocard slot... Just recheck that one, a loose connection could make that happen...

    additional tips...

How to check if Monitor and LCD are good?

    - just put a power on your LCD or monitor then check if the RGB will display.. if it is, your monitor is OK.
    - its time to check your VC..

    possible problems:
    - loose connections
    - sudden rise of the electricity may fry your VC (always put your LCD/Monitor to a AVR)

Troubleshooting a PC should be from OUTSIDE going INSIDE not the other way around.

    Hope this Help.

@taga_ipil: i just said both were fine as I have tested them on another pc so the problem lies in some other underlying cause.

Did you try draining the Plea Power on your mobo?

to do that.. remove the power cable in your CPU then press the power button and hold for 10secs.

    after that try again...

do you have both the integrated video card and the external?
if so, kindly check if the integrated is disabled.. even thought it will automatically detect the external.. just to make sure.

you said ealier that the integrated vc was busted.. so it means you have the integrated vc(one attached to the mobo)
I assume you are using the External(What brand is it?)...

Do you see the BIOS screen during boot?
    If none... hmmm pretty hard...

is the VGA cable is the one you use also in the office? when you tested it?

read again bai. i said INTEGRATED LAN not INTEGRATED VC. My officemate suggested the MOBO is busted. Considering naa na usa ka component ni fail then it's most likely progressive but i'm hoping ma salvage pa ni coz although i can afford to some extent to buy a new internal system i'm holding off till the january C2Ds come out.

Same cables - 2 just to be sure. I also have a DVI cable since the LCD can support both VGA & DVI inputs.

Nothing comes up on screen. "No signal input" comes up then it turns blank.
