This is weird mga bai. My bro rebooted my pc the night of the storm. Suddenly the PC now refuses to show anything on screen. My AOC LCD monitor just flashes "no signal" then the red LED at the bottom.
Initially, I thought it was the vidcard. I brought the vidcard to another PC at my office and it to my surprise it worked fine! The pc booted with the bootup screen and everything.
Then the next culprit I had was the monitor. The next day I brought the LCD to the office (thank god LCD siya. CRT would have been a nightmare!). To my surprise again the office PC booted up with the monitor working perfectly.
I just can't figure it out! Both components worked fine. The PC powers up. The HDD flashes. I KNOW it's booting to windows because when the HDD finishes lighting up I press the power button and in a few seconds the PC powers down - a clear indication that the PC booted into windows (even though I can't see it) and even went through the shutdown sequence.
If it is a defective PCIE slot, shouldn't the mobo cease working? The onboard lan was busted a month ago it's possible it's a progressive component failure. But i find it weird that everything else works fine and the mobo isn't even giving some sort of beep that something is wrong with it!
