Default Most US TV series will be in hiatus for a long time.. writers go on strike

Looks like most of your favorite TV shows in the U.S. are going to go on early hiatus or will go off the air completely.

Around 70% (West Coast) and 30% (East Coast) of shows are written by members by the Writers Guild of America (WGA). Shows like Heroes, Ugly Betty, Prison Break even the Daily Show (Jon Stewart) and the Late Show (David Letterman) will be severely affected. It looks like they couldn't agree with the studio regarding the share of the revenues from DVD sales, and regarding getting the share off of newer distribution mediums for TV like direct downloads off the Internet (such as Amazon's Unbox).

Looks like we'll have to get our fix of TV from somewhere else...

The last strike they said was on 1988. It was a 22 week strike (around 6 months), which cost the industry an estimated $ 500 million. It looks like this is gonna be for a while...

I don't think Lastikman or Super Inggo 1.5 will fill the gap...
