Default college allowance, how much is ideal?

Not going to be using credit cards for school, and related expenses in the coming school year. So, cash it is and I have no idea how much is an ok allowance. I will also have to be responsible for gas (for car). I usually bring healthier food option for lunch, prepare my own coffee that I put in a mug during the morning (so no Starbucks run for the most part), and don't go out a lot except on sporadic times that i'm invited by classmates/friends. How much would be an ideal cash allowance/day and not have to worry about having no cash left at the end of the day?

For the gas allowance i think you can have it every week or every other week. its around 2k(maximum i think) every other week depends on the distance in your place to your school. For daily expenses not exactly sure how much. When i was in college i only have 100 pesos allowance per day and its more than enough for me. I think in your case 100 pesos would not be enough.

Ok, thank you. I did not expect gas to be that much. I live quite far from school (from Talamban to downtown) so hopefully it's a bit less than 2,000 per week. I think I can live with 100 pesos/day as well.

My original plan didn't pan out. So I have to go back to Cebu para internship for a year. Havent lived in Cebu for a few years. Having cc and auto is more necessity than luxury kay dili ko kahibaw mag commute nya layo akong internship sa downtown from Talamban where my family lives. Sounds like 100 pesos is the consensus. Thanks for the advice.

2,00 pesos every 2 weeks is not that bad. its 1k per week. But again that is just an estimation maybe its less than 2k. Traffic congestion in cebu is getting worse.

Good luck sa imong schooling ts.

wat car man gamit nimo my friend kay depende pud na sa sakyanan, so imo jud planohon imo trip from school to house and vice versa. imo estimate ang traffic, traffic will eat most of ur gas jud ana. kung internship man pud nah if medical related, mag snack snack pud ka kay gutom bya pud nang mag internship.

If ok ra sa imo magbalon maka save ka ana. I mean naa man siguro magluto para nmo dba? I have a college friend once na siya car. Budget niya sa gas kay 500 - 700 per week from school to home ra jud na ang vice versa. pero magbalon cya if school days. ayha ra man maka gasto ug dine out with friends. but depende ra jud nah.

sa first month nmo. expect lang na ma over budget jud ka.

During my college days, my allowance is only 100 pesos. 3/4 for the fare and 1/4 for my food, sometimes I bring snacks in order to survive the day.
