No reason to keep these jeeps after 15 years of milking money from them. These people are earning money everyday from it. A car this old will always be a risk to passengers and other cars on the road. Almost all jeepneys of this age are beyond a million km mileage. Private car owners usually dispose of their cars at 100th km mileage, guba guba na ganeh. Old jeepneys have no working speedometer, no tachometer, no signal lights, non working shock absorbers and... worst health hazard for cebu residents.
As for the drivers, they have their families. Their safety is also important. Most of them are renting their units. If there are new Jeepneys available, why not
