    Default Is there really bribery?

This is with regard the recent issue that Gov. Panlilio was given money allegedly coming from Malaca単ang. At the onset, the media insinuated that it's a form of bribery. But when Among Ed held a press conference, the media got disappointed because Among Ed's words are clear that he didn't think the money is a bribe. Otherwise, he will not accept it in the first place. Actually, what the governor has in mind is that the money will be used for government projects.

I don't think there's really bribery. The media is just putting Malaca単ang into bad light again. After all, that will make them profit a lot.

let's not call it bribery... where does the money comes from? why wouldn't they answer that question?

when you are caught by a traffic enforcer and you give the enforcer "pang snacks". It's not bribery it's hinabang.

[color=navy]I just can't believe that Malaca単ang would be THAT STUPID to pull off something like that, since they're still under fire with the ZTE-NBN fiasco not to mention this allegedly faux impeachment attempt against the President.

I mean come on, this appears just as stupid as a local Filipino telenovela plot!

on the other hand, maybe Malacanang was not expecting a priest-turned-politician will tell the media about the 500 grand?

Maybe they are doing that to every politician for all we know..

uhmm..you can't blame the media from speculating when Gov. Panlilio brought this issue just a few days after the scam involving GMA's husband heat up...and one more thing, why give a bag of 1k bills instead of issuing cheques? fear of being traced? it just sounds sooo informal..

^ I think the media is so fond of speculating and insinuating that this is a controversial issue. I've seen the press conference myself and was too busy looking at the faces of these media people staring blankly at the governor when he told himself that he does not think the money is a bribe. They were at loss for some time.

Well, they asked leading questions again but to no avail. Still, the governor himself clarified that he does not see anything wrong with the money and he just want to put things into proper documentation. Actually, I am not really sure if the money comes from Malaca単ang or somewhere else.
