Default Why do gadget companies remove some features of their product's predecessor?

Why do the manufacturers of PDAs, Digital Cameras, etc... remove some features on a supposedly "successor" of an older product? It would have made the successor a "better update" to the older model.. But since these companies remove some essential features that were found only in the older product, then there's "no difference" at all between the old and the new.. Then there's no point too of buying in order to "Update"... Why is this so?

    Example:

1.) The Treo 600 only has 160 x 160 resolution at 4,000 colours... Ummm, my old Tungsten W is far more better with 320 x 320 resolution at 65,000 colours even if it only has 33mhz processor........ I hope the Treo650 would really be "better"

2.) The HP Ipaq 6365 has 200 mhz of processor, it also has Wifi.. It's successor has 400 mhz but no more WIFI..... ummmmmm

3.) My Pentax Optio S5i has so many "exposure modes" that I found useful (such as Museum, 3D, etc)... I didn't find these in S5N or S5z.... Worse, the "super macro mode," which was very useful to me and was present in S5n and S5z, was lost in the Optio S6 aside from the fact that the S6 has reduced "exposure modes"...... ummmmm

This is true for the new powershot series of Canon.
The IXUS 55 from the IXUS 50 and the IXUS 750 from the IXUS 700.
Pero makita man nuon na mas cheaper ang new release, so justified na naay certain features sa new products na nawala.

Ang interesting, specially sa mga mobile phones are newer models with new features pero minus some really good features from the old model. I guess marketing strategy ra giihapon, wala jud guro gadget that has all the feautures in one package, para malibog lang jud tawon ang consumer
