I think your VPN router RV082 comes with a manual. read it.

you have two options. you either go for IPSec VPN or PPTP/L2TP. It depends however if your box supports both.

before you go online with it, why not try it locally first. With this, you are sure that your VPN configuration works.

I suspect its your configuration. Tell us more. What do you mean about QiuckVPN? Is is similar to SSL-VPN? Sorry, no idea about this.

Also, tell us what happen when you connect. Where does it fail? Do you get a handshake with your VPN server? how about authentication?
[br]Posted on: September 26, 2007, 09:53:33 AM_________________________________________________o h by the way, you said your DSL router is in bridge mode. So your linksys WAN port has your static public IP address. Am I right?

Yes, Linksys WAN is static from the ISP.
Linksys QuickVPN is part of the package of the VPN Router.

Have you tried configuring this type of router? Linksys RV802?

nope. I'm into cisco and fortinet vpn setups before.

if that quickVPN is propreitary to Linksys, i believe you check your settings.

Do tell us the hows and whats of that so we could relate and ride along the discussion.

    Hi...

In your VPN router Web UI, go to Client to Gateway Setup that is under VPN tab. Then add user and password on it. Then tell your user in Manila that this is his/her username and password to connect to VPN using the LinkSys QuickVPN Client and don't forget also to give his/her the Static IP address. Besure your PLDT router in bridge mode, you cannot use the static IP if your are in routing mode. You can find the status if the user is connected already through VPN by seeing the Client VPN status.

Besure also you upgraded your router's firmware to the latest version and as well as your VPN Client.

Then, if you have questions more about the configuration of the VPN router RV082, just chat the LinkSys Live Chat, on this link.

    That should work.

I tried Linksys Technical Support through Chat but they can't support RV082.
I have also read some forums from linksys www.linksysinfo.org/ and they have the
same problem with me.. Issues from QuickVPN software.. Some of them already
talked to Linksys Tech Support but failed to solve the problem..

Does anyone experience same problem with me and have solve it? Plesae share your ideas! Thanks

You are right, you are not able to talk with Customer Care if your product is RV series, RV016, RV042, RV082 etc. But have you tried chatting again and change your product to BEFSX41, this is a wired VPN router. There you can chat the Customer Care Rep and ask about the RV082. I know this is very annoying but I done that before and they chatted me, and I solved the problem. Good luck....
