.. good for them, they're going to host a Formula One race, way back in the 80's India was on the bottom list of Asia's countries but now, look at them. Why are they progressing in such a fast pace ?? Is it political stability ??

I've been to India and quite a few times already. The situation there is not much different from us. The main driving factor for their economy is similar to the Philippines - Overseas workers. Can you imagine how many Indian IT professionals are now working outside of their country? This coupled with a good Educational System are the ones lifting their economy. Their government is somewhat similar to our government as well, Corruption is still the no. problem - in the states of Tamil Nadu and some of the sourthern states, Nepotism is widely practiced, the caste system is still very much alive in the remote regions of India. But Indians though have forseen all these before us, they invested so much on their people's education, and look at how the IT educational programs they had in the 80's and 90's brought them. Btw ... I'm writing these with my Indian colleagues at my back looking over my shouldersOriginally Posted by fingolfin

i think coz daghan sad ilang billionaire industrialists didto who are helping improve their economic landscape.. and yeah... they are the no.1 callcenter agents source
Sometimes population plays a role in an economy. India is a big market which has reached around 1bn people already. Like China, many MNCs (multinational corps) have put their factories there to take advantage of the low cost of labor and the large consumer base. I do agree as well that much of what India has accomplished is also their "intellectual force" - they are not just educated BUT highly educated in real terms - putting to use what they learn to business or work. I remember I had several Indian classmates when I studied in Europe in early 2000 and they just easily stood out in class because they take their learnings by heart. I think they are among those races that take education seriously.
India is catching up while Philippines is somehow being left behind
philippines is growing but our other asian neighbors are growing at exponential rates....
corruption would always be present in a system...
for me the its bec that the gov't doesnt focus on sustainable parts of the country...most of them only find ways to make there pockets bigger...
india has invested much on its textile and drug manufacturing sectors...both w/c can benefit the country since they employ thousands of people...
I think a sign of progress would be when majority of our people have stopped complaining things and the miseries of their lives and when they have finally stopped blaming the government. In short when the people are already contented.
Well, there's a lot of opportunities for progress these days. And I mean individual progress. If only one is able to finish his or her study and find a good job to support him and save a good amount of money to put up a business or some sort of incoming earning industry, then that could be an example of individual progress.
Everybody starts at the bottom and then rise up. The poor cannot go on complaining because the government is continuously doing its job to deliver to the people. In time, if our people have learned the values of hard work and industriousness then progress would come in easy.
I've often wondered why they're so smart.
In San Jose, Mountain View, the Silicon Valley...siguro about 70% of the IT professionals are Indians. In the US, maybe 50% of medical doctors are Indians.
Feeling nako maayo kaayo siya academically. They breeze right through school. Murag superior intellect sila. Bright gyud sila. It must be a genetic or a racial thing.
No its not genetic or racial. Its about hard work
As u all know the second biggest population in the world is in india, not all people in india are pure india it is already
race by that alone explain why they have to go out in india coz its pretty crowded there already. Then they go to other country, in which they are treated unjustly. That's why they always work hard so to prove to other people that they can do things.
