Server - Client Winforms (Chat)

Just wondering if anybody here is into c# winforms socket client-server programming (UDP/TCP)? Looking into creating an in-house application (chat) with private messaging. Should be able to communicate within and outside LAN. I'm looking at how many days to completion kaha (sa katong naka sulay)? Mas sayon ba ni ug e host ang server app somewhere (wala nay set-up ug port forwarding etc...from within ) or mas maayo ug e host within (mas safe apan hasol sa sys admin)?

days to complete depends on how good/savy you are.
the server may reside on whatever you may like, depends on its purpose.

and..., there is no such thing such as a 'safe' system/application when this is facing the net or in a hands of a evil coder

actually the server can be any Socket applications, as long as the server can listen to the same IP address and same port, ang estimate sa how many days kay dependi sa kadaku sa imo server and sa number of packet messages to support.

Salamat sa reply mga bossing...80% nako ani. The program is currently working on LAN, some minor issues with log-in notifications, user statuses and spacing issues on the message history but I'm looking for small tweaks here and there and should be "ok". Kulang nalang testing over internet.
