Default Is swimming a good activity to lose weight? What are the other activities in your weight loss program?

What are your experiences and results for having swimming as an activity to lose weight? Are there other activities we can try?

Not recommended for beginners because swimming is an appetite stimulant -- meaning you might get the munchies. Ever felt the urge to eat after swimming in the beach?
Swimming will burn a lot of calories from the physical activity
and your body maintaining your temperature underwater because of water's natural heat capacity and thermal conductivity.

If you can maintain a diet, then go for it.

I am planning to make it a once a week thing. Grabbed a 10 pesos worth of hot cake and slept the whole night. Had a protein-filled diet the morning after. Thanks for the tip.

On weekdays, I do have a 1.5 hrs of workout. Protein, protein in my diet.

Hope you can pray for me for my weight loss program. Need it badly.

I've seen a lot of overweight people who swim frequently and still remain overweight. Maybe there's a right and wrong way to swim as a weight-loss exercise. But if done right, swimming is an excellent exercise because it's low impact and you're less likely to suffer injuries. But one exercise I do know that works like magic in melting off fat is running (not slow jogging) over moderate distances (i.e. 5-10km). Your legs are the biggest muscle group in your body, and the bigger the muscle group you put into action the more calories you burn. Just be patient with your progress and don't overdo your routines or set goals. Do it for fun and do it with a partner or a group.
