IAFT Cebu is once again opening its doors to aspiring filmmakers, actors, and 3D animators.

Come experience the fundamentals of producing, directing, acting, cinematography, and 3D animation in live classes AND as a STUDENT.

This is an open house event featuring accomplished industry mentors from around the globe.

Registration is at 1:00 pm followed by a school tour and class orientation,where you can meet the mentors. A Q&A session will conclude the Open House event at 5:00 pm.

WEEKEND WORKSHOPS (Starts on August

DESIGN AND CREATE FOR BROADCAST (Motion Graphics)
*Students will learn the basics of both After Effects and Cinema 4D in making simple motion graphic elements for broadcast.
*Requirements: Must know Photoshop or Illustrator

Duration: 30-hour workshop (10 Saturdays)
Time: Saturday, 9am-12nn
Venue: Animation Room
Class Size: 12
Age: 15+

A SHORT FILM WITH MAYA
*Students will learn, design and create a Short Film out of learning the basics in Maya. The workshop will cover basic modeling, simple rigging and animation.
*Requirements: Must know how to draw. A Gamer. Photoshop background is preferable but not necessary.

Duration: 30-hour workshop (10 Saturdays)
Time: Saturday, 1pm-4pm

SCREENPLAY IN A DAY: HOW TO JUMP-START YOUR MOVIE WRITING MACHINE
*Using lecture, discussion and in class writing exercises, students will unlock their story, learn its proper form (play, movie, novel, short story), and obtain the tools needed to move it forward. Students should come with an open mind, a desire to explore the deeper aspects of story, and be ready to write. This is a very hands-on workshop.

Duration: 3-hour workshop (1 Saturday)
Time: Saturday, 1pm-4pm
Venue: Classroom 1
Class Size: 20
Age: 16+ or anyone who can write and stay focused for 3 hours without a break.

OPTIMIZING THE BLACK MAGIC CAMERA WITH DA VINCI COLOR GRADING
* A workshop in cinematic looking post production from RAW footage. This workshop is integrated with the Cinematic Camera and Lighting Techniques workshop.
*This two- part seminar will cover using the x-rite color checker and the Black Magic camera to shoot and edit RAW images. The first day will shoot a scene at magic hour exploiting the Black Magic camera’s RAW capabilities. The second day we will take these RAW images and process them in Resolve 11 software using Davinci’s capability to adjust the color grading using the x-rite color checker. The edited images will then be output and given to the participants.

Duration: 8-hour workshop ( Saturday & Sunday)
Time: Saturday, 3pm-7pm and Sunday, 1pm-5pm

THE ABSOLUTE HEART OF ACTING TECHNIQUES
* The workshop is composed of a whole day acting technique exercises, culminating in on-camera technique exercises, and full-on improvisations on –camera, with an acting partner.
Duration: 7-hour workshop ( 1 Saturday)
Time: Saturday, 9am-5pm

MARKETING YOURSELF AS AN ACTOR
*This workshop will teach each participant the industry standards and tips for formatting your actor resume, what to look for when choosing your headshot, how to put together an acting reel that will keep their attention, how to network on social media to get jobs, what to expect at an audition, how to slate for the camera, how to conduct yourself at auditions and on set, and where to look to find jobs.

Duration: 7-hour workshop ( 1 Saturday)
