Joey vs Willie: Senate to probe ‘Hello Papi’

MANILA, Philippines -- From “Hello Garci” to “Hello Papi.” The Senate is turning its attention from the election scandal to a game show scandal that has been the talk of millions of Filipino viewers of noon-time variety shows.

Sen. Manuel Roxas II, chair of the committee on trade and commerce, told reporters that he would file a resolution seeking an immediate investigation of alleged manipulation of the P2-million “Wilyonaryo” game portion of ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp.’s “Wowoweee” program by its host Willie Revillame.

Yup, i have personally saw this segment last August 20, of course, i don't have work. it's a total scam jud. you would definitely realize that they are manipulating the outcome of the game. why would they be putting two numbers in that wheel? zero credibility na jud ni ang wowowee

The scandal involved “Wowowee’s” Aug. 20 episode which showed Revillame bungling his presentation of the key number “2” to indicate that the contestant had not picked the jackpot offer of P2 million, but instead showed a “0.” He was caught on camera holding two sets of numbers. As in di ba, usually in the end part kay they are going to show where the 2,000,000 could have been. Willie said that it's in the violet wheel, but when he showed the number, it was 0 as in zero, then later on he grabbed something at the back of that wheel, then revealed the number 2. there were 2 numbers there. which is supposedly isa ra jud unta to.



ABS-CBN released a statement more than a week later, explaining the incident as an “honest mistake.”

“The revelation of where the P2-million jackpot prize is happened after the contestant decided to get Willie’s offer. Since ‘Wilyonaryo’ is a new game, a mechanical glitch occurred in the reveal portion,” it said.

Over the last two days, De Leon and Revillame, colleagues-turned-bitter rivals, have traded barbs against each other.

On Wednesday, Revillame denied in between sobs that he cheated on his show and expressed displeasure over De Leon’s taunts on “Eat Bulaga.

pero as host, he should have double checked kay siya biya jud ang mauwawan dayon..although naa jud lain nakaamong niya and they work as a team..pethats the way I see it since siya frontline mas nag take unta siya extra care

...if there was indeed a technical glitch ( giving them the benefit of the doubt), it is sad to know that many people take advantage on other people's mistakes!

Even the host should not know where the jackpot and some of the prizes are placed. Someone from MTRCB or DTI should've checked it.

magpili ra diay sila kung kinsa ila padag on. basta within the same wheel, there are two numbers, 2 and zero, willie wanted the number 2 to appear, to authenticate that they are indeed giving away 2 million. of course, he knows where the two million is... he pulled it wrongly mao to nabulilyaso, wala siguro to siya kaayo na briefing. mao to nasakpan na nuon.
