Question bout IP Address

Naay friend nako nga nag ask. Mga 300-400 cla ka buok karon nga naay PC. If mag set cla ug IP address, mo subra man ug 255 ka buok, they're thinking nga for example, one group will use 192.36.252.xxx den ang remaining kay mag 192.36.253.xxx. Question sa akong frend, mag kita ba sa network or maka connect sa internet cla tanan using 192.36.252.xxx ug 192.36.253.xxx?

no, different subnetworks won't see each other. you need a router in between them to access different subnets and the internet.

is the network address provided by the isp?

if yes, then they need to ask the isp with a network address from the higher block say 192.36.252.0 255.255.254.0 instead of the /24 block. this will accommodate 510 hosts. host range address would be 192.36.252.1 ~ 192.36.253.254

if no, then they can pick a larger set of network address block from the private address available. pick one they like 10.x.x.x, 172.16~32.x.x, 192.168.x.x

UCAV, are you sure about this? do they really communicate? i'm assuming that the networks stated here are on different subnets 192.36.252.0/24 and 192.36.253.0/24. i think that even if they are on the same workgroup or on different ones (on windows) they don't communicate with each other without a router between them (i'm also assuming that all workstations are connected to a switch or hub).

try configuring two pc's connected on a switch with different ip addresses (192.36.252.1 and 192.36.253.1) and try to ping each other. if you can ping it, then it proves me wrong

magkita ra na sila tanan mga bro basta default subnet mask lng ang gamita 255.255.255.0
meaning no subnetworks were created. no need routers, only hubs/switches

ridney is right. .252 and .253 networks wont communicate even if you will use /24 subnet mask.
Both needs layer 3 device for them to communicate.

the best thing nga maka connect silang tanan is to use a different subnet for the 400 pc's. Sulayi ug subnet mask of 255.255.0.0 in this way maka allocate ka ug ip more than 400. Sulayi lang ni bai.
