This is my point of view during typhoon season where the school is putting at risk the safety of the students and employees.
I know Universities are trying to boost to everyone that they are the best but what is the use of being the best school in you place yet you don't have sense of humanity to your students and employees.
You know what, the government should do something about it even though they are autonomous institution still the government has the power to say something. If that is the case our government is bullied by this institution cause even within there jurisdiction by implementing safety rules for the institution to follow they can't even implement it. So is our Universities and Schools (Private) are immune by the power of the government?!
Going back to the Schools and Universities, they are risking the lives of the student employees and faculties. What ever happens to them in going to school or going back to their respective houses the schools or university can't help them. The institution will just give a damn plaque in your honor. What is the use of the recognition if you are dead or worst in the hospital and just waiting for your time. Will they pay the bills and the emotional trauma?!
Remember the med student in manila electrocuted in going home during the typhoon what did the school said? Nothing!! The student was outside the school campus so it is not the responsibility of the school anymore. They will wash their hands and putting the blame to others.
Hey Mr/ Ms president of the Schools and Universities we are also people, most of us have no cars in going to schools. I think you been to their situation also. It is not easy to catch public transportation during disaster. Don't compare your situation to the present situation right nowadays. During your time you didn't have Yolanda strength typhoons. It is not a reason to compare things from the past and the present cause we ain't living in the past.
