Default Are 2 Stroke engines difficult to maintain?

Guys help ganahan ko ma kibaw ani. Basin mu kuha ko ug 2 stroke bike nga motard.

Very easy to maintain a two stroke engine sir. Ayaw lang gyud hubsan or under feed sa 2T oil and no problem gyud ka. Basta ayaw lang to mga old school none CDI bikes. No valves to maintain (Reed valves will last the life of your engine, rotary valves of Kawasakis may need seal maintenance) No valve springs, no rocker arms. No timing chain. No Camshaft. No need to ever adjust valve clearances and timing chain slack.

2Stroke bikes are always lighter than a comparable 4stroke. Fuel economy 4stoke gyud ang winner. But I've had 2 DT100 O1U and both gave me 38 to 42kms per liter. My old XL200R as well as my current XR200 both give me about the same milage. The DTs were faster than the XLR and XR. 4stroke less top end power but more low end.

4stroke vs 2stroke, the argument can go on and on. Each has it's advantages and disadvantages. I've owned 5 two stroke bikes (LB50, TS100, 2 DT100, RM125N racing bike) and 8 four stroke bikes (XL125s, XLR200, XR200, XT250N, XT250T, XZ400 road bike, XT600N, TT600K). I've also had the pleasure of having been loaned for 3 months a Yamaha MX400 (pure motorcoss bike) The power and power delivery of that bike was truly mind boggling. and very few friends would dare to kick crank the bike. I loved that bike and almost bought it as my first bike. Newbie pa gyud ko at that time. Dili lang gyud kaya ang fuel consumption, pre mix, and no lights.

Only one thing i hated about 2strokes Sir, when you finish your drive, baho kaayo oil imo hair and shirt. That's why even though i loved two stokes, for me mas maayo gyud ang 4 stroke.

    Hope this helped.

Wow helped gyud much boss para nako. Question lang, umm, Do you think a 2 stroke would make a great Daily commuter? And since maintainance is easier on a 2 stroke, does that mean mas less ang gasto pud?

First question Sir, What motorcycle model do you have in mind? All my bikes except the LB50 were daily commuters. At one time i had an LB50, DT100, XL200R and XT250. Ako land puli pulihon ang XT and DT. The XL was for weekend trail rides only. I could not use it to work or even admit that i had one cuz of work related matters. 2Strokes are good daily commutes as far as I'm concerned. Just don't forget the "aso" thing and the smell of burnt oil on your clothes.

I am trying to aim at a Kawasaki Kx 125 or Kmx 125 that I saw someone selling online.
I've done a little research on 2 strokes, many say that the smell is good. haha

Sorry Sir but dili gyud ko familiar sa KMX 125. What I've heard is that consumption is around 18 to 20 KM/Liter which i find shocking. Akong XT600 which was my daily commute until 2 years ago: If bulhot bulhot ug maayo (which is scary) 19km/liter. If relax kaayo, as in inday inday mag drive, 21 km/liter. So the 125cc KMX mas kalas pa kay sa XT600! That i find shocking!

Try asking around sir sa mga owners ug KMX how much ila milage. Ang KX mas kalas pa gyud, cuz racing bike man na. No autolube pump which means you have to mix oil with gas every time you gas up. This is prone to error and can cause many problems (Miss firing or abereya if too much oil. Engine seizure if too little oil). Racing bikes have no headlights so that is another problem.

Also stay away from kanang 'uso-uso' nga mixan nila ug castor oil ang 2T para humot. Absolutely no good gyud na cya. Doesn't improve lubrication and causes gummy deposits sa exhaust system.

Old DT125 O1Ws, Sir OK sad. But "OLD" gyud ang looks. To some wala na gyud lami tanawon. Ang mga DT125R and DT200R stick to the twin side radiators mas gwapa, Hehe. But I heard nga Kalas pud gamay. And difficult to find.

    Just ask around sir.
