Sup doods. post only
5 of your beloved video game soundtracks and tell us why you like it (the reason I say only 5 because you must choose which is great and which is OMFG EARGASM!!!1!) and we rate each other's choices. I'll start
1. Earthbound (SNES) - Good Friends, Bad Friends

Earthbound is one of the best RPGs I played. The ending made me sad because they made me say goodbye to the people I met throughout the journey and the game would be over soon. This is the music for the credits. The jazzy upbeat style made the parting a less depressing one.
2. Der Langrisser (SNES) - Ally Backup 1

Noriyuki Iwadare is my top video game composer. He composed the music of some of my most beloved games like Grandia, Lufia, Ace Attorney. I've first heard of his work from a Japanese only game called Der Langrisser (I had to search for an incomplete translation patch). He's pretty much the reason Symphonic music is my favorite genre.
3. Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii) - Satorl Marsh (Night)
Xenoblade Chronicles Music - Satorl, the Shimmering Marsh / Night - YouTube
Pretty much all of Xenoblade's soundtrack is awesome.. but one of the memorable ones are those that would completely change the feel of a level. The difference of scenes between Satorl Marsh's day/night cycle is metaphorically and literally like night and day.
4. DragonQuest VIII (PS2): Journey of the Cursed King - Remembrance
Remembrances - Dragon Quest VIII 8 Soundtrack HIGH QUALITY - YouTube
I'm a sucker for RPGs that have large overworlds that would let you roam wherever you want. The feeling of exploring the world while listening to this is one of my most memorable gaming experiences. So glad the western release used orchestrated music.
5. Silver Surfer (NES)
Silver Surfer - Level 1 - Nes Music - YouTube
Love me some 8-bit tunes. Bad game, though.
