Need advice which car to buy

i will be buying a used car anytime soon. The options i have so far is a local red '97 AT honda civic Vtec, and a white surplus AT Honda Civic EK2 hatchback. The problem is, im having difficulty choosing between the two. Both are all stock, just had paint washover, good machine condition, and good air conditoning. I do not know the history or previous owners of both cars, but my trusted mechanic has given both cars clean bills of health.

I just cant decide which to choose since im not so familiar with cars. Can anyone here pls give me an advice about which one to choose and what are the things i should know about the mentioned units/models before i make up my mind. Any advice/suggestion/pieces of information that would help me decide would really be very welcome. Thank You.

I'm assuming the EK is surplus so its gotta be a convert. Personally, Id go for the local nalang considering your safer with the orig left hand. Also, local units commands better re-sale price over surplus units..

same with everyone here id go for the local unit, ive driven three diferent surplus vehicles and i can tell gyud the huge difference everytime i use my dad's ride which is a local unit, sa handling lang daan..plus banks wont accept surplus cars in case u wanna use it as a collateral.

these are the usual probs ive encountered with the surplus cars:
- all three vehicles have aircon probs sa iyang piping since na redirected na sila, usually naay leak so sige ka karga ug freon

- bati ang handling, murag mosabay sa suspension ang manubela

- masudlan ug tubig ang front seat floor (since didto man ang orig whole sa manubela)

- usually bati gyud ang dashboard as in pangit naa gyud na gisi or liki, not unless pulihand nimo ug orig dash = gasto nasad

- basta daghan probs, ang pinaka worse is sa akong friend he was driving above 70km/hr on a semi rough road using his surplus honda hatchback, what happend is nawala ang control sa manubela mibigay ang gitrabaho pag convert from ryt to left-hand drive so nawala ang control sa manubela gud thing didto cya natunong s basakan n bag-o pa gitamnan so lapok n daghan pa water..pag chek namo ang pag convert kay gi welding ra diay

im sure daghan pa mo ma contribute nga probs with surplus units..buttom line is for me dili gyud ka replace ang surplus units sa local units when it comes to performance and safety
