Here's what happened. I used to work for a BPO company and I was with them for 6 months. Once I processed my clearance, I was told that my last pay will be ready in 2 weeks time. So after 2 weeks, I called and they told me to try calling again after Christmas. So Dec. 27 I called, and the HR person told me to get it from her on Monday. When I went there, she told me, "didn't we tell you to just wait for our call?" and said that Finance dept is on leave and I should just wait for their call. I know from experience that they never really get around to calling you so on Jan 2, I called again. They told me it will be available on Jan 6. So earlier today I called, and they told me that my check hasn't been signed by the Company President yet. I know for a fact that the president is currently at the office because I verified that with the reception, so I asked HR if it would be possible to have it fast-tracked and have it signed today because I also need my BIR 2316 and CoE as it affects my current employment (and taxpayer status -- insanely large deductions!). The HR told me to just try calling again on Wednesday.
So basically they keep promising that it would be ready at a certain date but always end up delaying it. What I'm worried about is that akong friend who used to work there had a dispute with the management about a month ago and somehow brought my name into the picture and exaggerated things which could've put me in a bad light.
My other friend who's currently employed there told me it's possible that they're intentionally putting my last pay on hold as it normally doesn't take that long. It's also been known na since it's a small company, the supervisors can sometimes influence the admin to forego normal company processes labi na if naa sila'y gidumotan.
If ever mapadayon ni, does it give me the prerogative to raise legal action? I don't really care how small or how large my last pay is, I've just had enough with this company's practices which are unfair to its employees. Naa na ni silay other issues like pay discrepancies na dili tagdon sa Finance og high volatility sa employee's position.
