    Default CCD/Mirror cleaning

Just got my first entry level dslr, and unlike the later models, it doesnt have a self cleaning mechanism, so dust is probably its main enemy, when i took a picture, i always saw two bright small dots on my images, can anybody point me where can i have my unit cleaned? coz im afraid i might ruined the sensor..

    thanks in advance

check your lens first, front and back... you can use a blower to remove those dust in the sensor...

i'm not sure but i think its not sensor dust if you see bright dots because when the dust blocks a certain pixel in your sensor its should appear as dark dots. bright dots in your images may be caused by hot/damage pixels in your sensor... i'm not sure though... maybe the experts can comment.

talking about having your sensor cleaned, go to your cameras service center.

thanks alot for all your inputs...
and edwin_sn, you are right, ive just figured it out that it aint dust thats blocking coz its bright small light just like a star . Gladly ive found a software to remap it, and now im happy with the outcome, disable 64 hot pixels. Incase those of you who have these kind of problem pm me so i can send u a link to the remapping software but i warned you, use at your own risk..

works on nikon cameras, dunno with canon and others.

When I found out I had dust on my sensor, i was very much worried.
It consumes lot of my time cleaning the image in ps.
So, i decided to get the sensorscope.
It works perfectly. (Achtung: dont do it f ur unsure in cleaning sensor)

A friend of mine who used it & exerted too much pressure whilst cleaning,
accidentally scratch the low pass filter on top of the sensor.
    too bad.

its not just dust... moisture sad. I've seen expensive lenses go to waste due to moisture. i don't know if this really works but my photography prof pag collage said to put your lenses in a tupperware container and put silica gel. The silica gel will absorb all the moisture that can possible damage them. Pero usually you can take your lenses to a pro and have them cleaned...
