You can spend either 6 grand for workshops or 200 grand for their 1 year diploma course that was supposed to be launched this month but wasn't because they charge so much desperate to rake back in what they invested...
BUT if you have your ordinary Gigabyte chomping PC, and a camcorder that has a DV interface those are just 2 basic things that can get you started![]()
Here's my experience :
When IAFT first opened, I immediately signed up for 2 courses but it turns out they lost my registration. The director, himself, gave me a refund (he's African-American) but I was disappointed with them. I talked to one of the staff personnel & the reason why they lost my registration was because priority nila ang media companies like abs-cbn from davao daw. Anyway, that was my experience. I never joined after that but they kept calling me. Maybe they have better policies now.
hmpf... that skul again...

you could say that...
The school is still working out some adjustments but it does have great potential once it streamlines its administrative quirks. I for one have been inside their new compound in Mactan and personally I was awed. It really appears promising but will it deliver...? That I can't honestly say.
One of the major problems facing this school is the high fees of their lectures, it's warranted because you'll be instructed by certified and award winning professionals from the local and international (aka Hollywood) film industries. But the school has yet to attain credibility, there is no guarantee that once you graduate with a diploma from this school you'll get a job.
I for one, will wait a year or so, while earning some much moolah and enroll (once again) because the oppurtunities this school offers cannot be flipped away like much flak...
What we do in life echoes throughout eternity~ Please support your lokal artists and their efforts to promote the Cebuano identity and culture!
To be honest, I didn't like Roy's attitude or the attitude of the makers of the IAFT mocumentary that's set on the streets.... it's as if Cebu is some peculiar place and a regular Caucasian human being goes berserk because of how strange the foreign land called Cebu is. Both arrogant and maybe even racist.
And some of their other projects like "TAXI" - the actors clearly needed more understanding of intonation and delivery, unless it was rather too awkward for them to execute a film with locals as the characters, and have that done in the universal language.... It's disappointing. I expect more from these "Hollywood mentors". They don't have Stanislavsky.
However I did see a film where all the players have been schooled in IAFT, it was executed with precision and so much care, it even had a bit of satire to it although I guess this wasn't led by the school per se but by the man who made it his personal project and "Dead Cat productions". That film also had some caustic wit to offer, and was scary as it was thoroughly enjoyable.
