need help on my flash

i hope you can help me on this guys. im having problem with my flash. i got a 430ex for my 400d and im not sure if ettl is working. is there any settings i need to configure on my camera or flash for it to sync? the flash will burst but i dont think its the right burst. when using ettl mode, i get a dark output. i would appreciate any help. thanx

burst? you mean you shoot at continuous mode using flash? hehehe...

if i shoot with flash and w/o flash with ettl, more or less the same ra gyud ang output. and then i never got to see the flash exposure confirm lamp light up. i got this for 1 week and i never figured out whats wrong. hadluk ko bisan guba ang flash or maybe naa lang ko na limtan ug set...

BTW, im using 50mm 1.8 lens. does this have to do with the problem? thanx agaen.

Your flash did not fire at all... check if your flash is set to "SLAVE"... if it is, then set it back to OFF... the switch is at the bottom of your flash. its NOT the "ON-OFF" switch.. your flash should light RED (ready) before shooting.

Next, make sure your batteries are new or newly charged.

Try to post another set of pictures, with the same settings and with Exif data.

... first thing you have to check... your BATTERIES... you might be using dead batteries thats why you dont see the LED light on... test your flash by pressing the test button to see if your flash works... mount it on your camera and test it by releasing the shutter and see if your flash fires... if it does... check your camera metering and AF points, in your sample shots your camera may have metered the bright TV at the background thats why your flash did not fire that much light to illuminate the subject.

thanx very much guys, i really am appreciating your help here....

i made sure its off not on slave... and also the pilot light is on... im sure that the flash is firing but not the right fire. i also tried pressing on the pilot button and it fires whenever i press it. also i made sure that my subject is the electric fan...

ill just post some more pix... BTW, whats exif data? is it the complete advance properties of the picture?

... ok thats good... if still you get underexposed subjects, try to check the flash exposure compensation both on your flash and camera...
