Hi Chico, if you want the hair dematted, it will cost you a lot. grooming salons (mine included) will charge you double. To dematt a dog's hair takes several hours, even half a day or more - depends on how severe the matting has become.

A 5-month old Lhasa-Shihtzu mix would be considered small and we charge 450 so if its severely dematted, our fee could start from 900 or more depending on how severe the hair has become. Check out reviews and photos from our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ShihpomapooDogHotel

My suggestion: shave the hair off and let it grow back. Its better for your dog. dematting will also hurt your dog no matter how careful the groomer is. But, its always your choice. Feel free to discuss it with my groomers at 4952743 if you're interested. Hope this helps.

LestR: I don't know of ANY grooming salon na mu de-tick apart from Shihpomapoo pero layo kaayo kay naa mi sa mactan. We handle from smallest to super large dogs like a full grown rottweiler, great dane or old english sheepdog. Layo lang gyud mi.

Pero you can de-tick your dog yourself. To assist you with that, I have a very nice anti-Flea vitamin supplement called "Flea Away" Main Flea Away

What it does is, a) its a vitamin supplement already (multi-vitamin) b) it leaves an odor only ticks/fleas can smell that repel them from your dog so they don't want to bite your dog at all. The day after, you'll notice, the female ticks will fall off your dog and they stay where your dog lies. But its not enough, you have to remove the ticks coz Flea Away is only a preventive measure to keep your ticks away (good deterrent against ehrlichia). If you're interested, call 4952743 or 5111197 if you want to order for pick up. I can leave a bottle on my other non-canine related office in N. Bacalso. A bottle of 100 tablets cost around 850.

I read from one of the threads that there's a natural cleaning agent sold at Pacifica that's super effective daw at literally ridding your dogs of ticks/fleas TESTIMONIES | ANIMALS | JOHN AND ROSEMARIE HOWARD OF NANAY'S DAIRY GOAT FARM . Suwayan pa sad na nako. I'll let you know if its effective jud. Bitaw, daghan kaayo magpa de-tick sa amo-a pero i want to help na ma eradicate na gyud ning mga ticks kay samok kaayo.

I suggest ikaw ang mu remove sa ticks coz there's no other person more vigilant than you. Get used to massaging your own dog like check behind the ears, neck, lower chin, in between paws, behind the paws, behind the limb, near the tail, on the tail, ears, inside the ear, anal areas. This way, you really also bond with your dog.

And if you need grooming na sa Cebu area lang, maayo na si Ruby sa Caminade Mambaling. That is if your dog need styling. If not, ikaw na lang oi. If you need to empty your dog's anal sac, any vet in your area can teach you to do that or remove it for you.

Maayo that u chose to shave na lang. I hope I didn't ruin their pricing for them. Asa na dapit ang PIKE? bag-o na? ang pina ka barato nako nahibaw-an sa Cebu before kay ang CVD ra, 500.
