VB.NET question. Please help...

Hi istoryans! I need help sa ako gihimo na program. gusto unta ko malink ang part na contents sa ako form sa lain form. for example. naa ko form nga mag add ug names sa members and address. dn naa pd ko form nga naa member mo borrow ug money. pero gusto nako na once mo type ko sa 2nd form sa iya name, mo display ang mga possible names na ako gi type which is gkan cya sa ako gi save nga name sa form 1 (pareha anang mo type ka ug word sa google search ba na mogawas ang equal sa word/s na imo gi type). Also, pwd ma save ang na generate nimo nga result sa data grid view? thanks in advance fellow istoryans.

ang imo gusto mahitabo nga ang records nga imo gi-entry from the first form (for members information) makita as suggestion or list sulod sa combobox when you type ang first few characters nga naay matched nga name sa imong existing members' records .

combination na siya sa querying sa imong entries sa members information table as triggered sa imo keyboard events.

i suggest to make it simple and convenient, use a combobox and set the dropdown style mode to "simple" i-type dayon ang key information nga imo gamiton pag-query sa imo table, in this case possibly ang name sa member. then i-trap ang keypress event nga kung ang na-press ENTER key, naa ka routine nga tawagon to execute the query resulting to a dataset nga imong i-populate sa imo combobox - human ug populate i-set dayon ang combobox dropdown style to "dropdownlist" ug i-focus ang combobox. then let the end-user select asa nga entry iya pilion from the list and execute subsequently unsa imo gusto buhaton.

and yes as said by print+="helloworld" better done with oop...

ibutang na sa imung form1.. hehehe.. dili ko kabisado ug database nga SQL but naa ko gamay nahibal'an sa database access nga connection...

sa database access nga connection, pwede ra sad ka m.gamit sa listview..

d ko sure ani nga code.. but i search lang... hehehe...

adto ka sa "listview1. boubleclick" something like that.. na kung imung i double click ang selected value sa listview, imu na dauing ibutang nga

form2.textbox2.text = listview1.items(0).subitems(0)

akong code dili na xa mao.. i search lang... hehehe.. please let me know if sayup akong suggestion... corrections are highly appreciated...

@dreamboy: Nag-attach ko ug sample diri para VB.NET/C# basi sa akoa nasabtan sa imo gusto buhaton. Basic ra kaau na ako gibuhat, naa duha ka form. Sa Main form, nimo makita ang listahan sa imo "member". Pwede pud ka maka add/edit/delete etc sa datagridview. Sa Search form, naa ra usa ka textbox nga imo ma inputan sa search filter. Tanan results base sa imo gamit nga filter makita nimo daun sa datagridview. Ayaw naa kaau ipa lisud2 pareha ato imo ingon nga mu-suggest sa combobox.

Sa kani nga sample, nag buhat ta ug dummy nga data service. Didto makuha ang data na ato i-databind sa datagridviews. Wala ni gagamit ug database, in-memory ra ang data nga naa sulod sa static (module sa VB.NET) nga class para dali ra i-access sa lain form. Ayaw gamit ani nga pamaagi sa imo production project.

Tuod ang gamit sa search kay ang mu match sa imo gi input sa textbox ug ang nagsugod sa "Name" nga field.

Tuod naa ko mga gamay nga suggestion kay .NET imo gamit:

1) Gamita ang mga features sa framework. Tun-i ang ADO.NET, LINQ, etc.
2) Gamita ang databinding. Ayaw anang manual nga pag assign ug data sa mga controls.

Pang demonstrate lang ang purpose ani nga sample so ayaw lang kaayo mo panghinaway
