8 additional players named to the USA team

carlos boozer, tyson chandler, kevin durant, jason kidd, mike miller, greg oden, tayshaun prince, and deron williams were all named to fill in to the USA basketball team for unavailable gilbert arenas, joe johnson, brad miller, lamar odom, chris paul, paul pierce and dwyane wade.

the add-ons will complete the list which already included carmelo anthony, shane battier, chauncey billups, chris bosh, bruce bowen, elton brand, kobe bryant, kirk hinrich, dwight howard, lebron james, antawn jamison, shawn marion, adam morrison, jj redick, luke ridnour and amare stoudemire

this is a better and more balanced line-up for the USA team. the addition of boozer, chandler, and oden will add more depth for the team which already had brand, stoudemire and howard, while jason kidd, being a part of the previous USA teams, adds experience to the team. plus tayshaun prince, shane battier and bruce bowen playing together, that spells lockdown.

other teams really don't thrive the low post game, USA's big men are more than enough to lord over the paint. :mrgreen:. most of the teams, especially the europeans, are shooters, even their big guys can shoot. that's probably why the coaches gave more emphasis on the 3-spot. having bruce bowen, shane battier and tayshaun prince, few of the nba's premier defenders, will help them a lot for this cause.

im looking forward for tayshaun prince, elton brand and tyson chandler on the court together. with chuancey billups and carmelo anthony.

why not add duncan, kg and sheed in the roster?

probably the team has already learned their lesson: never just pick up players just like mangoes. the team is building up for the future with these young stars. chemistry is more important than showtime in the world championships. thats exactly how teams like argentina stand out in the tourney. :mrgreen:. duncan, KG and sheed might not be available long enough for the team. all of them are nearing their prime, and sheed already exceeding perhaps.

crossing my fingers. i just wish seeing baron davis in the national team. maybe just in this one..
