Question Inquiry on the GPU for Adobe CS4 (entry level only)

    Peeps,

ask lang ko. naa ko'y plan to use my mini-ITX rig CS4... para magamit pud intawon ni sya...i know na outdated na ni'ng CS4 kay naa naman CS6 pero, kani lang akoang gamiton para dili nko mo palit ug lain... don't ask me if its genuine ok... hehehe...

now, i'm torn between these 2 entry level GPUs... HD 6570 and GT 640 (Kepler SKU)... both are equipped w/ the old DDR3 VRAM & capacity is 2GB... "no gaming on this rig"... even light games... "wala gyud"... ask ko if ok ba ni sila for Photoshop CS4? i guess, CUDA and Stream will be utilized by Photoshop CS4... (please correct me if i'm wrong on this assumption especially on Stream... sure ko, supported man ang CUDA)... dili ni pamugas akoa ha... lingaw2x lang...

    thanks...

ok bro... mas ok nko ang Zotac GT 640... ngita pa ko'g CS6

go for GT 640, since it has CUDA man boss miggy ("It takes a man and a woman") para pas2 daw sa rendering,

even the old 9600 GT (w/c i have here), supported ang CUDA nya for CS4... but nice to have ang Zotac GT 640 gyud dah... thinking2x again... hehehehe...

Kabalo ka sir naay specific nga VC to be used for pure graphic designer when you use ADOBE Photoshop I forgot the name of the GPU. Pero kana imong VC gi panganlan would be overkill ra gani for CS4. Dala ra sir even gamit kag builtin GPU. But w/ GPU would be much better of course. Gamit nako before was builtin GPU lang for adobe CS5 walay prob even no lag at all.

I hope it helps. But if you're uncertain you can check adobe photoshop cs4, cs5 and cs6 system requirements.

^ yup, kaya ra kaayo sa iGPU mo run ug CS4, CS5 & CS6 but naa'y mga options/functions (filters) na mo dagan lang if ang GPU supported nya... like if the GPU installed has CUDA for example. lingaw ug try kun unsa na na mga options/functions (filters) for image editing... hehehe... sa GPU na imohang gi mention, for professional use, that would be a Nvidia Quadro... pwerteng mahala... naa mapalit diri na old & new Quadro models... Quadro FX 580 (to mention one and its a short board... its an old Nvidia offering)... price wise, barato ra. about 4.2K php lang... bnew unit ni sya. pinaka barato na Quadro na akoang na kit-an diri. gamit ni for other jobs like AutoCAD, SolidWorks ug uban pang design related softwares.

anyway, im inclined for the GT 640 (Kepler SKU) due to its power consumption as well as its a new architecture if compared to AMD's offering that I've mentioned since the later was their old product. other options that I have here are GTX650, GTX 650 Ti and HD7750... all of these are on short boards... short boards ra ang masulod sa akoang chassis (Jonsbo V1)... kaso lang, i don't need any of these 3. i'll not play games on this rig... oops, naa'y available na nice short board GPU for games. its a high end one... its an Asus GTX670-DCMOC-2GD5... i'm not planning to buy this ha... it is just worth mentioning...

back to the topic, if i can see an old GPU w/ CUDA like the GT 240 (short board ni siya), i may buy this. barato ra man ni kay old tech then gamay ra kaon sa power pud... it just need the power from the PCIe slot...

you might want to get the 630 instead sa 240, mas improve ang power consumption ana and performance on par if not faster

^ thanks Bro... had checked Nvidia website for the power consumption comparison... this is based on their reference design though...

    GT 240: 69W... 96 CUDA cores
    GT 630: 65W... 96 CUDA cores
    GT 640: 65W... 384 CUDA cores (GK107 SKU)
    GT 650: 64W... 384 CUDA cores

negligible ra ang power consumption between the 4...

ang Zotac GT 640 (kepler SKU) Thunder Edition akoang planned bro kay gamay ra need ug power then nindot pud sya'g technology... 384 CUDA cores compared to 96 on the GT 630 & GT 240. i don't have any idea aning CUDA pa pud gyud in CS apps. experimento lang ko para dili ma ihas... hehehe. the GT 640 is not geared for gaming man kuno pero, nindot man ug result (acceptable ra sya for a casual gamer) sa BF3 & Cyrsis 3 as posted sa YouTube. we all know that these games are both GPU animals... anyway, dili ko mag games ani nya pud (but who knows in the near future)... "IF" lang ang GT 240 DDR5 1GB... hehehe... for today, ang 1TB HDD lang sa akoang gi palit. sa sunod lang sa ang GPU... basin next week... atots... joke2x... bitaw, dili man ni dinali-an na project kay lingaw2x ra man ni... mao diay ni akoang gi planohan ai... pwede ra unya lang ni sya pud...

a link on GT 640 playing Crysis 3 @ 720p resolution... and indeed, it is very3x playable...

Sa Photoshop CS6 kay Mercury Graphics Engine ang gi gamit dili na CUDA... So kung mag amd ka ok ra...
