Help: Xbox Dvd Contents -- can't be read by my PC.. normal?

I have a dvd-rom drive and a dvd writer (DL capable)..

When I insert a non-original Xbox dvd, disc can't be read by any of the drives..
Is this normal?

Yes....Xbox files can't be read in your DVD-rom

I see.. but can I access my xbox dvd-rom drive (while connected through PC lan)? or do I have to copy the files to the Xbox HD first, then access the contents from there?

Im not sure sa Drive D of your Xbox, but the rest you can access such as drive E,F(if you have a larger HDD)...Unsa diay mong i-copy bro?game? I mean what's your purpose?try to transfer your files nalang sa HDD then sa imong PC dayon para sure

games bai.. cause I haven't upgraded my HD yet. So I wanted to backup my Xbox games to my PC so that if there are any scratches or errors on the dvd games caused by regular use, I still have a backup that I can copy to my Xbox HD later when I upgrade.
