Hello istoryans!
naa lang ko topic i-open regarding this colt of riders na medyo na fade-out of history lang ba... The reason na nag post ko ani is, na ingganyo lang ko sa iyang history/background on how this type of bikes was founded.
I have here a link sa Wikipedia na nag state sa iyang discription - CAFE RACER: Café racer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
wikipedia states:
"is a term used for a type of motorcycle, as well as the motorcyclists who ride them. Both meanings have their roots in the 1960s British rocker or ton-up boy subculture, although the type of motorcycles were also common in Italy, France and other European countries. The term, which originally arose as an insult from motorcycle enthusiasts towards riders who they thought were playing at being a road racer but merely parked outside cafes, refers to a style of motorcycles that were and are used for fast rides from one transport cafe or coffee bar to another."
and naa pd medyo intriguing lang para nko ni na paragraph sa Wiki.
"Rockers were a young and rebellious Rock and Roll counterculture who wanted a fast, personalised and distinctive bike to travel between transport cafes along the newly built arterial motorways in and around British towns and cities.[citation needed] The goal of many was to be able to reach 100 miles per hour (160 km/h)—called simply "the ton"—along such a route where the rider would leave from a cafe, race to a predetermined point and back to the cafe before a single song could play on the jukebox, called record-racing. They are remembered as being especially fond of Rockabilly music and their image is now embedded in today's rockabilly culture"
Until such time this became a colt, or a type of motorcycle na medyo na left out lang ang iyang beauty.
I manage to check on this link also,
Cafe Racers, Bobbers, Trackers, custom and classic motorcycle parts.
It shows here all the old school bikes being restored and converted to a cafe racer.
I manage to know some istoryans and other friends na medyo kind of in to this pd also.. medyo lingaw ang topic, since this involves customizing and not being afraid of what will happen to your bike if you do or not do this.
I have some pictures here of a sample of the cafe racer:

Nag open ko ani na thread just to check if there are others like me who are fund of this type of bikes pd.
I heard a phrase from CAFE RACER TV (sa cable), gi state niya, "A cafe racer is what I can say is a real bike and this is my basis of a real biker, why? because the concept is not about how you look in your bike. It only needs an engine, a frame and some 2 wheels, no complications, its a BIKERS BIKE."
So mga enthusiast like me, ari ta diri!
Other topics like:
- bobers
- choppers
- cruisers
