Hello Istoryans,

Just want to know some inputs of our fellow foodie istoryans here. Where and what are your secrets in your recipes? Or anything that you want to share to everyone about your cooking practices and where to get your ingredients...

So I'll start first....

Fresh herbs (basil, mint, parsley) and even rommaine lettuce and celery --- I buy them in carbon around 5pm onwards on a Sunday (La Nueva Supermarket side). The best part is its very cheap.

This is for home consumption which is 1/4 kilo or 1/8 kilo good for one week (daghan na kaayo ni).

basil and mint at 1/4 kilo - 25 to 30 pesos
parsley 1/4 kilo - 15 pesos
celery - 60 pesos per kilo
lettuce 1/2 kilo - 25 pesos

Note: the farmers who sells these are the same suppliers of Rustans and Metro Ayala Grocery.
