weird thing going on in my monitor

guys, i have this problem with my monitor (or is it my graphics card?)...all of a sudden there are colored dots and streaks across my monitor..when i open a window and move it around, it becomes blurred..tried to work something out so i turned off the hardware acceleration at Display Properties > Settings > Advanced > Troubleshoot, but i can still see some colored dots at the sides of the cursor and windows.....

i switched my bios setting for video from agp to onboard vga, and it works fine..none of the colored dots and streaks...is there possibly something wrong with my graphics card? its an ATI Radeon 9200 SE...i used catalyst control center which i installed/updated from this installer 'wxp-w2k-catalyst-control-center-022141c-english.exe' (forgot the version number)

maybe the driver

yup try reinstalling the driver... if not.. try driver rollback to see if issue is still there.. if it is then most probably card mo na yan. also try other compatible drivers

for 9200se (DX8 cards) try catalyst 4.7 version below..

YES THAT'S WEIRD. HAPPENED TO ONE UNIT HERE. came from overheating. and dust particle buildup in the motherboard or cpu causing overheat.

clean up motherboard. disconnect and connect what you can.

and run it again.

reinstall the bios.

that might do the trick.

my got the same symptom but dat was an nvidia fx5500. tried updating BIOS, driver, and reinstalled the OS and still the same. vc was replaced

already reinstalled the driver that came with the cd for the vc but the problem is still there...
works fine if i disable hardware acceleration

@jollyjun: already tried to clean up the motherboard and vc and all...lots of dust there, by the way..ni-improve siya gamay..wala na tong mga colored dots sa kilid sa windows og mouse cursor...pero mao gihapon, kinahanglan gihapon i-disable ang hardware acceleration...waah! can't play games anymore!!!!

Its like an error where you overclock the VC past its limits.
