32-bit and 64-bit Windows: frequently asked questions

If you want to move from a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or vice versa, you'll need to back up your files and choose the Custom option during Windows 7 installation. Then, you'll need to restore your files and reinstall your programs.

dili na matawag nga upgrade bro, reinstall jud ka OS using a 64bit media.

you shouldn't have problems upgrading to 64 bit. like werty said, you will need to do a clean install (wipe existing hard drive) as opposed to a straightforward upgrade. The windows 7 disc i believe includes a backup tool that's compatible even with windows xp. you can use it to back up documents and even program/user settings, and load them onto your laptop after windows 7 64 bit is installed

compatibility-wise, you shouldn't have a major problem. however, please check all your existing peripherals (printers, scanners, webcams and others) and make sure they are compatible. 32 bit programs for older windows versions (xp and higher) should work, but you should prepare your devices's 64 bit device drivers. there is also the occasional windows software that runs with odd quirks once it's transplanted to 7.

but if you really like x64 os Sir, you can also dual boot with 32bit os, restart and select your desired os if you want to use your peripherals that run only on 32 bit , it will also be done with Virtual PC environment if you don't want to restart your PC.. hope it will help
